Windows 11 LTSC - How many people here are using it?

I run Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC on my main pc, as I don't need any of the AI Slop...

It comes with less bloatware, Other than having to install ms store and xbox.....

Works A treat....

From what I have read, disabling AI components in Win 11 Home/Pro, can be undone, just by installing updates.
Probably true, then I'll just kill them again!:lmao:

In case this thread, was moving a little too swiftly for you:
  • When you install "Win 11 2024 LTSC IOT evaluation", it is licensed for 90x days (As confirmed by screenshot)
  • MS provides a means of extending Win 11 2024 LTSC IOT evaluation period, it is referred to as "re-arming", and software remains "licensed", when this official method is used.
  • Product can be "re-armed", using "MS" official method, currently, a maximum of 2x times, (as confirmed by screenshot)
  • Performing clean install, results in repeat of the above process.
At no point, using the above procedure, is the software "unlicensed".. "Sweetie"

My current "Windows 11 2024 IOT LTSC" machine, has Xeon 2680 V4, with 64gb DDR4, and I'm quite shocked how smooth it is to use, faster than fresh install of Win 1123H2 Pro.

Also, fresh install from genuine MS ISO, required no regedit hacks, (My machine does have TPM 2.0).

I can assure you that you don’t move too fast for me, and it is unlicensed by definition as it is an evaluation installation.

You can now get a legtimate third party licence for LTSC/Enterprise.

Enterprise is meant for the corporate space and is too heavy for average users. Education is essentially Enterprise Lite. It offers LTSC style stability and has 36 months of support compared to Pro that offers 24, The difference from Pro is the removal of bloat and all the AI stuff Microsoft is pushing out. If you're looking for feature and security updates, its an improvement over LTSC that is frozen for five years where you get only security updates. So there are two clear upgrade paths if Pro doesn't work well for your needs.

Your under the assumption that LTSC is frozen, The standard Enterprise ISO is Build - 26100.1742, however there are frequent updates, the last update was 26100.8246.1.23 April 14 2026,

Its up to the company or user as to whether they opt in or out of updates...

LTSC doesn't get feature updates, only security updates. That's why its in a frozen state. Non LTSC enterprise editions like Enterprise and Education receive feature updates over a longer support cycle than Pro.

What is your purpose in bragging about violating the licensing agreement? 🤷‍♂️ I don't believe any one is confused you can legitimately license a copy for EVALUATION use. I am not sure why you're confused as to why your usage is violating that agreement.

Try reading above again, it's not the evaluation product. (y)

And hey, if you don't agree with people using the version of Windows they prefer, on their own hardware, feel free to stay away, and not rant on this thread..

Yeah, some folks here flip out over use of some operating systems. By the way, you certainly can buy and license a copy of IoT LTSC. Yes, you can legally buy and license Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC, but it is aimed at businesses, developers, and embedded systems rather than general consumers, often requiring purchase through authorized distributors. It is generally licensed per device through OEM channels or Volume Licensing.

Agreed...

But good grief..

I'm actually an IT/Linux professional.

So, no one on a Windows 11 Forum, will be dictating to me, which version of OS, I choose to use.
