Windows 11 Pro not detecting particular USB device

Having a problem with Windows 11 Pro not detecting a specific USB device. The device is a Nintendo Switch Pro controller. I have a Windows 10 Pro PC and plugging the controller in via USB will work flawlessly on that computer, it will be detected and I can use it in supported programs so I know the controller is not damaged.

On the Win 11 laptop, I can plug in other USB devices to the same USB ports without issue, examples being an Xbox controller, USB flash drives, USB hard drives and USB SSDs. So the USB ports on the laptop are functional as well.

To be clear, I am trying to use it over USB, not wireless.

I have attached a photo showing my Win 11 Pro version.

Other specs:

Ryzen 7 5800H
RTX 3060 (lap top version)
Samsung NVMe (boot)
Crucial 2TB
16GB RAM

Want to try this tomorrow and report back if it works, thanks for the link.

Other things to try is you may need specific drivers to use the controller, these are written by the hardware maker and they often take time to produce a driver that works with a "New" operating System.

I notice that you are still using an older version of Windows 11 - upgrading to the latest version, [22H2] may add newer drivers. alternately they may be available online from the manufacturer

None of these options work.

On an unrelated note, do Win 11 keys work with Win 10? I am considering just moving to Win 10 but would like to keep my key. Win 11 is just so awful and so many things that worked in Vista/7/10 don't work in Win 11. Not sure why Microsoft decided to break so much compatibility and make the GUI 500% slower for basic tasks.

Yes keys are interchangeable between 10 and 11. Your digital license will be retained if you decide to clean install 10.

I have found that older software works just fine in 11 and I have no issues with the GUI. If you do not like the things that have been changed, look at the tutorial index of this forum. There one can find ways to change most things one does not like. 11 is a fledgling OS and MS is still working out a few things but overall I find it comparative to 10 in most areas. As Barman said, updating third party drivers to work with 11 is the responsibility of the hardware manufacturer, not MS. Have you contacted Nintendo support?
