No. Picture of the info showing on your lock screen (which is kinda hard to take a screen cap of when it is locked lol).

Yeah it's all good now. The main problem is that I order a LOT of stuff from amazon. So I would have literally gotten that stupid notification pretty much forever.
But it's gone away now that i've slected "photo".

Thanks for pointing me in that direction. The lock screen pics that change every time you logon was annoying me anyway, so I like this better all around.

I don't doubt you did, but it seems impossible that if this is turned off, you're still getting notifications from Amazon. I can't see amazon overriding Windows settings. Unless you have Phonelink setup.
Spotlight as far as I understand windows, shouldn't have anything to do with it. But whatever worked I suppose (y)

that's not it though, it's not amazon doing this, it's microsoft monitoring my hotmail account that I use for amazon, and alerting me to new emails.
This all started when I used Edge browser for the first time for the sole purpose of logging into the hotmail account, because I had another hotmail account open in firefox and didn't want to quit the session.

User Configuration > All Settings > Turn off all Windows Spotlight Features > Enable


i don't even have a lock screen.. just log on screen and no notification ever show when locked.

also, you could just clear out the saved creds in edge so it cant track that in the background... i personally keep edge disabled using sordum's portable tool until i need it, then just enable it briefly (if i ever do need it)

I looked into a fix like that, but it removed the login function.

can you link that application? I never use edge, so it wouldn't even effect anything day to day.

If you want to block EDGE, the default Windows 11 and 10 browser, for any reason, you can use free and portable Programm Edge Blocker.

curious.. what did it disable? i haven't noticed any differences other than no useless lock screen covering the logon screen

*side note - i also keep edge as my default browser so that clicking on url's doesnt work. i dont trust most urls.. so this way i will have to copy and paste it into a new window (from outside of my browser that is)

There are some settings in Edge you can disable as well to help prevent this. Some having to do with Shopping, etc. Is your Edge logged in with your Microsoft account?

I am too, but it's obviously more than a coincidence that I had just used edge and that homtail account at the same moment. still, it's disappointing that I turned off so many settings for notifications, and none of them did the trick.

no, I didn't try the one I saw, but it seemed to say that would happen.
also i'm in group policy editor, and i've selected the computer configuration, but I don't see the option for "all settings"

Edit* by the way, I think it's great that someone actually coded such an app, lol.

But it’s a setting that is provided and I can’t find any documentation anywhere on the net (yet) that states Edge overrides the notification settings. I also don’t understand what Edge has got to do with emails other than being a carriage to log into Outlook. Also, if you can see Amazon emails on lock screen, you should see all emails. Unless the account is for Amazon only.
