Windows 11 REALLY sucks in performance compared with Window 10

@Quexos

@tashev2078

I hate MS in general, for everything after Win 7.
But....

With the tweaks listed in the link below, and just a few others... Win 11 becomes bearable, almost frisky. :-)

I also removed most of the Windows Apps (using REVO Uninstaller - free)...

That's pretty much how I feel about Windows 10. I still hate it compared to Windows 7, but managed to get Windows 10 to be bearable. I hated Windows 7 compared to XP, hated XP vs 2000. 98 to 2000 was actually good! Vista didn't exist to me...similar to 11. Windows 11 crossed the line for me though, by a long shot. No amount of tweaking makes it palatable to me. Not only is it bad to me, but should be illegal (probably actually is) for many, many reasons in my opinion. It is 100% malware as far as I'm concerned.

Just a few tutorials, etc.

One thing I do agree with you on, is that "Settings" is still a mess.
It's like they took all the Settings and tossed them in a blender for a while, then slapped them on Win 11.
Maybe by Win 15 or Win 20, they'll get it sorted out. :D

Performance wise... it's pretty much a toss-up, when you have Win 10 and Win 11 set up properly.

I don't understand the hate for Win 11.

My installation absolutely screams and practically leaves rubber marks on my desk doing burnouts (is that what you guys call it when you rev your car like crazy and make screeching sounds and leave rubber marks on the ground? If so, that is my metaphor :-). ) It is way faster than Win 10 on the same computer hardware, and in my opinion, more stable.

I have a couple of Win 10 computers in the house. They do ok, but the window opening and program start is a tad slower than 11.

But I'm with @Ghot Give me Win 7 anyday.

I was on Windows 7 Ultimate a couple of days ago and it ran like a charm. I never kept Win 10 on my main for more than 24 hours and only rare instances would I have it on a drive connected to this unit. I was really hoping Win 11 would be an overall improvement but with Co-Pilot, One Drive, Bit Locker, TPM2, Recall... Yeah, I saw where this was going. Big disappointment. Still, I can hardly say Win 10 is better in its raw form. IMO Win 10 requires a ton of surgery before it can be regarded as a practical OS. Evidently the tradition continues.

Guys, I'm leaving you. I'm done with my rant here. Nobody from MS cares; nobody from my company cares. My workstation is slower than my first 8-bit Pravetz x86. There is nothing I can do about it as it doesn't depend on me. My choice for my PC is Linux. Peace out.

I'm done with my rant here.
You thought you would get real support for your rant?
Forum members, that are interested in technical questions, mostly don't like Windows-Linux rants.

Nobody from MS cares; nobody from my company cares. My workstation is slower than my first 8-bit Pravetz x86. There is nothing I can do about it as it doesn't depend on me.
Nobody here can change that. You would have to complain to your company's system administrators!

My choice for my PC is Linux.
If you're happy with that, why not? But that won't be for the company's workstation, cause they decide for you what you'll have to use...

Yes but you asked about the Windows 11. It’s running Enterprise, and “ All OS updates are performed regularly as this is a working PC managed by my employer (I have no choice).”

When he compared 10 and 11, he did it on his own computer.

"So, in short: I captured 2 hours 26 min. / 10.5 GB of video clips of installing, configuring and testing both OS versions:
Windows10_22H2_x64.iso
Windows11_23H2_x64.iso"

So I asked him why he chose not to use 25H2!

I've seen quite a few reports that Windows 11 is slower than Windows 10. But the differences are small. A lot of us have probably upgraded and so may have a Windows 11 machine faster than their old Windows 10 machine. It's a bit moot since the OP has flounced off!
