So, I use the ASUS TUF DASH F15 laptop with i7 11th gen and my laptop is compatible for Win 11 upgrade but I haven't received the option in Settings->Windows Update. I want to upgrade via the Windows 11 upgrade assistant. So, I have a big question, does the ASUS related software and services such as Armory crate etc, automatically installs after the upgrade since all data supposedly should transfer onto from Win 10 ??

I updated an ASUS VivoBook through WU the other day..., update went smooth, everything remained untouched.

I own the ASUS TUF F15 and I received the windows 11 update yesterday, after the download was complete it got stuck at 71% during installation. I contacted microsoft support who suggested I update my bios and drivers. After updating those I then tried the installation again but got stuck at 73%. I again contacted the microsoft support who requested remote access to my laptop, after spending hours tweaking and going around my laptop there was nothing the tech support could do. So I decided to stay on windows 10 until a stable built is released.

Unfortunately, the incompatibility has to do with your software load, not Windows 11. So you will basically be waiting for 4 years until Windows 10 loses support. If you do a clean install of Windows 11 to either a second partition or to a VHDX file (virtual hard drive) you will discover there won't be any issues with the clean install.

It would be curious to know which version of Windows 10 you are on?

I would clone the hard disk on a spare disk just in case. Then I would start Windows 11 Setup again but this time make sure you don't use Windows Update during installation, so it won't try to replace any drivers and probably won't fail. If it is a software issue, try also disabling all startup applications, including the antivirus (you can enable them after installation) and all non-Microsoft services by pressing Win+R to invoke the Run dialog and running msconfig.exe. There is a chance that Windows will try to replace some drivers anyway, to avoid doing that go to Device Manager and disable any non-important device such as bluetooth, card reader, camera, even WiFi or LAN. You can enable them aftewards. Avoid Windows Update use the ISO downloaded from here: Download Windows 11

Agree. Do a system image, and back up all files to a separate hard drive then try clean install of Windows 11. System image in case W11 is no good so you can get back to where you were. File back in case W11 is all ok after clean install and you want to put your files on and keep it.

UPDATE - After contacting the microsoft support for 4 consecutive days and to no positive result. I got on google and did some research, read a few articles and followed a couple simple steps and VOILA now i am on windows 11. Which the microsoft team assured me was only possible through a clean install.
P.S. I upgraded through the Windows Update.

I just got an ASUS TUF DASH F15 and it keeps getting an error with the Windows 11 installation. I was wary of following the steps especially 'step 2' because those were a lot of files. I did a system restore before all the steps, of course. I'm not very techy so I was scared of doing this, but I couldn't stand not having Windows 11.

However, the error remained. :( I will just wait for any update in the future. For now, I will enable all the other services in my system config. But, thanks anyway. If you can give us the original link to what you did. Just in case there are updates to the info there. Would really appreciate it.

It is perfectly safe to delete everything in the Software Distribution folder. The needed files will be rebuilt by Windows Update and any bad ones will be gone. The steps given are what is needed to completely reset the Windows Update system.
