Windows 11 21H2
Greetings people,

Am I the only lone one who isn't getting the Windows 11 22H2 update? I have a new laptop (MSI Katana) as of this summer and find it unique that I'm not getting the superior 22H2 update yet. Is this normal or abnormal?

(Perchance this posting doesn't show up on this forum, please let me know immediately)

Upgrade to 22H2...

Probably the easiest way (other than waiting on Windows Updates), to upgrade to 22H2 is this.
Use Option #2 (this link), to get the 22H2 ISO image, save it to your desktop.

Then use that ISO image to do an In-Place Upgrade to 22H2.

Here is the short version of the In-Place Upgrade tutorial...

DISABLE non-Microsoft:
a) antivirus software
b) firewall software
c) drive encryption software

Make a full OS backup with a program like Macrium Reflect (free)

Right click the ISO image and choose: MOUNT
Open File Explorer and you will see a new drive letter. It will "look" like a DVD optical drive.
Double click the new drive letter to open it.
Find setup.exe and double click it to start the in-place upgrade.
Choose the Keep personal files and apps option.

After it's all done... to UNmount the ISO image, right click the new drive letter and choose: EJECT.
The ONLY thing you will lose is some of your personalizations. Your programs and data will be intact.

After you've upgraded to Windows 11 22H2, run Windows Updates to get the latest version.
When that's done, make a fresh backup.

Abra-ca-dabra :-)

Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 13 years?
Thank you Ghot for that helpful reply. I am having no problems with this computer but should I begin to be filled with great anxiety and lose sleep over the 22H2 update, you've made the process to update it manually, appear very simple.
I've read that the automatic update can be delayed because of some glitch found on the computer but this is a machine four months old, so why do I suspect that 'might' not be the problem? Another laptop here updated to 22H2 when it first became available.
Any idea as to why this one doesn't pick it up?

It could be anything. A setting. tweak, removed App, driver, 3rd party program.
Sometimes, MS seems like a 6 year old kid who, not getting his way... decides to: "take his ball and go home".

Fortunately, some adult, knowing this... made the In-Place Upgrade. :-)

It could indeed be a bout of gas on Microsoft's part. I'm going to leave it alone for a bit but if it doesn't come down the pipes after another month or so, I will no doubt take your advice and download it manually. With an annual update, it's not like waiting till the spring anymore when there would be two updates per year. Thank you again for answering my questions.
