Windows Input Experience and endless Webview2

My Windows Input Experience, keeps launching even though I have done everything I can to disable Windows Ink.

When Windows Input Experience, launches it always opens a ridiculous number of Webview2 sub process, (see image below) which is weird both because I am having trouble finding any information online as to Windows Input Experience doing this, and also, I have done everything I can to remove Webview2 from this system (yes I know, that can break things, this is my computer, I'll run it how I want.)

Ending this task has no discernible effect on the computer or anything I ever do on it no matter how much is running or what I am running. But ending the task doesn't matter as it always reloads itself and all the webview2 stuff, and starts grabbing ram, doing stuff on the network, and writing to the HD. In the above pic it is all pretty idle but it does strange stuff seemingly randomly with no discernible purpose and yet it cannot be stopped or disabled without it coming back like some horrific zombie.

Also I have done everything I can to remove WebView2 including everything listed here, as well as everything listed here, and here, but nothing can get rid of this malignant cancer, at least not for long. I understand "it is important", yet any time I manage to temporarily disable or remove it, it has zero effect on anything I ever do, but it comes right back with the next reboot anyway for all those "important" things I don't need it for.

There’s actually two sets of WebView2 files, one managed by Edge browser which is allow to update much faster to keep up with the latest web programming demands, and another version provided for default Windows apps.

Unfortunately, unless you forego some desktop features, WebView2 will be running in the background on behalf of those processes. Removing the files can be moot, if newer versions get pushed a part of the Monthly Update.

i have tried to completely delete webview2 from the system but it keeps coming back
so i have all instances of webview2 blocked by the firewall, there are two of them.

i also don't have many, if any, Microsoft apps or any of the 'newer' Microsoft programs installed
and the older programs that i do have installed don't use webview2.
i uninstall a vast majority of these newer Microsoft apps and programs with RevoUninstaller.

thus far i have zero instances of webview2 running in the task manager.

Any/All Powershell command line usage to remove Windows apps is perfunctory and superficial, at best. All it does is just remove the app from the users view by de-activating, the guts of the app still remains in the system and is Windows beck-and-call to be resurrected, at will.

RevoUninstaller (including using the Advanced option) will remove the app, and all the leftover files/folders and registry entries.

Geek Uninstaller will do the same

but webview2 i cant find listed in RevoUninstaller or Ccleaner.
i will have a look at Geek Uninstaller.

just downloaded geek uninstaller and it doesn't show webview2 in software or apps.

That depends on whether you use Remove-AppxPackage or Remove-AppxProvisionedPackage.

You probably already removed it with REVO

i wish that was the case but the webview2 folder and all its contents in C: programs (x86)\Microsoft is alive and well.

From what I can tell Zoom may also be hosting its own variant of Webview2, meaning there might be three sets of things trying to host WebView2 files on my computer.

@pseymour Interesting. Do you have any quick pointers on the difference? If not I can google it. Either way I appreciate the information already given.

This seemed to mostly take care of my problem: Download Edge Remover - MajorGeeks

Of course, after I open zoom, even for a second, Task Manager shows "Background processes" just filling up with new instances of webview2, like literally a couple dozen of them. Most of them aren't even attached to anything that task manager can see. Whatever the reality is, task manager just makes i look like webview2 is just doing stuff like some sort of wild untamed animal that runs in packs and has no purpose or master. These "herds" of webview2 persist even after I close zoom, and if one tries to end those task on the task manager, something reloads them within seconds even though zoom is closed. I need like a reboot to flush this cancer after so much as touching zoom.

I get that zoom uses webview2, so, whatever when I am using zoom. But why does it create these self resurrecting free-range herds of "unattached" webview2 instances that persist well after zoom is completely closed? If zoom is completely closed, that isn't about running zoom any more.
