I was able to fix my sound problem. The thing is that I shouldn't have to go through hell ands high water to get sound working every time I install a new build. MS knows about the problem but are more concerned about releasing new emojis and desktop stickers than they are about fixing know problems.

When I was trying to get my speakers working in build 25231, I lost the speaker icon on the taskbar. It was with the hidden icons and I couldn't find a way to unhide it. I had to do a in place repair install which fixed the icon but broke my sound again. This time I was able to fix the driver on the first try by upgrading the Realtek sound driver to the HD sound driver in Device Manager.
