I'm unfamiliar with Windows terminal admin. Is it the same as admin command prompt? There is a few settings for it in windows settings. I don't know what would be the best choices out of the ones listed in settings/startup

Hello Alicia, :alien:

Windows Terminal is a modern host application for command-line shells like Command Prompt and PowerShell. It makes it easy to open and switch between these command-line shells in one window.

When opening Terminal the name PowerShell actually shows in the Title Bar but as Admin it gains more rights just as Command Prompt as Admin gains more rights. Command Prompt, to me, is more like the old DOS while Power Shell can be more involved/complicated in using scripts.

Don't know of any relationship but Mac OS X and maybe newer macOS and Linux use Terminal.

Terminal is interesting. It has GPU acceleration and some nice customization options. For example, you can set a Terminal background picture which can look pretty slick.

Here is what my command prompt looks like in Terminal:

I noticed something else as well.
I have a short cut for Admin Powershell, but if I open Admin Powershell with Terminal... it's... stronger or higher level?

I was running a command in some tutorial, and it said to use Terminal to open Admin Powershell.
I just used MY shortcut (which does open Admin Powershell). The command didn't work.

But... when I opened it using Terminal... it worked.
And... I copy/pasted the command each time, so there wasn't a typo or anything.

I just thought of something else. The shortcut for Admin Powershell was made on Windows 10, before I did the In-Place upgrade to Windows 11. That may have something to do with it.

Once again, I need to switch to Win 11 to test. Woe is me. :D

Well I "see" one difference...
The top one is found here... C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0

Welp... I'm too sick for this right now. I'll tackle this another day.
