Wow. A lot of Realtek updates


What if you uninstall the Realtek audio driver and restart? Windows should automatically install the audio driver. Check if your issue is solved that way.

I have tried every option available and the Realtek drivers will not work. At this point I have come to the conclusion that this is something that MS or Realtek is going to have to fix. Fingers crossed, maybe, just maybe the next build will fix the problem.

Are you sure you have a Realtek sound card? Sometimes it is something else, such as Intel HD audio that can accept Realtek driver but of course doesn't work properly. If you uninstall the driver and restart, what device you see in Device Manager? Is it a Realtek?

Known issues​

[General]​

  • [NEW] Under certain circumstances, Widgets may appear missing for a small subset of Windows Insiders causing explorer.exe to crash in a loop after upgrading to this build. If it is missing, you can install it here. We recommend doing this before you upgrade. If you upgrade and are impacted, please follow these steps for rolling back the build.
  • [NEW] There is an issue in Build 25247+ causing some Insiders to not able to view certain secondary drives – this may also affect other PCI devices. The device shows as having an error in Device Manager. We are working on a fix, once you upgrade to a build with the fix it should be functional again.
  • We’re looking into reports that audio stopped working for some Insiders after upgrading to the latest flights.
  • We’re investigating reports of crashes with a few different apps and games in recent builds.
  • We’re working on the fix for an issue causing various UI elements in apps appear to disappear and reappear sometimes in recent builds.


Has literally been in every build for months. So yeah.

That's why I test Insider's builds in a Virtual Machine and prefer standard releases for my main computer.

I guess I like to live dangerously when it comes to my computers. I run the Dev builds on both of my desktops and my laptop. I have Macrium images if needed. I have had to use them in the past. I also have images made with Easus and Aomei. The desktop does have a Realtek soundcard. It is a known problem that some users experience. I just happen to be one of them. When I get home tonight, I'm going to hook up a set of speakers to my old desktop and see if I have sound
