Trying to bring my brain up to date.
Never thought about buying a dual chamber fish tank case but I not only warmed to the idea but after watching the sales I just purchased one online last evening (Montech King 95 ARGB).
I need a new case as I have a used video card that was too long to fit my existing case.
That said I wanted to purchase a new power supply as mine is very long in the tooth and rated at 550 watts. Old enough that I cannot remember when I purchased it!
I want a modular power supply, and they are configured so different from my old one that I'm scratching my head.
Am I correct that they are basically the same except the newer versions are more efficient and might have a high-power connection for a power-hungry GPU, and vary by the amount of output connections available, and the length to fit in the new case. I'm thinking the newest ATX version 3.1 supply.
This particular used GPU is a An ASUS Strix RX5700 XT with 2, 8 pin power connectors and shows a draw of 225 watts.
I am planning on updating the motherboard processor etc. as I move up the feeding chain so I do not know what my power requirements will be. So, I'm going to err on the too much power now side.
