Solved 24H2 Vulnerable Driver Blocklist detecting driver AsIO.sys in Windows after login

I tend to do that also, but as I was interested in what happens on a fresh install of 24H2, I didn't this time.
LOL. It was the same for me. I like to try things a little different on new versions just to see if behaviors have changed.

I am having the same problem with the asIO.sys driver and found the cpuz app by Asus installed. I uninstalled this app with the intent on removing the driver for it(asIO.sys) but on my next boot-up, the error message was back. I would like to delete this driver since I have nothing else by Asus installed on my PC but I have not been able to locate the driver file in Windows/System32 folder anywhere else on my C:\ drive. Can anyone direct me to the location of the driver file asIO.sys?

@optimxr Do what I did. Search the C: Drive, use Everything Search to find it and delete it? Or did you try that?

Download Everything 1.4.1.1026 64Bit version.

I searched only the Windows Folder on the C-drive by first unhiding all the hidden system folders and files and nothing was found. I'll give the whole C-Drive a try next. It will probably take awhile.

It has to be there? You’re right, it could take a while. But “Everything” was super quick for me on my ancient PC

Thanks for your help, Anstspants. I find this truly amazing that I come up with nothing searching the entire computer. I've included all system files, all hidden files and all sub-folders and Windows File Explorer finds no matches for AsIO.sys. I find this hard to believe. I did discover that my video card was bought as a ASUS Ge-Force GT-1030-LP-2G but listed as NVIDIA in the device manager and the driver listed is NVIDIA, version 32.0.15.6094, dated 8/14.2024. Is there something I have overlooked in my searches? I have also updated the latest ASUS Intel Chip set Drivers, Serial IO Drivers and the VGA Drivers but no change with the blocked file message. Any other suggestions?

When i was investigating this same driver i had about 20 hits for it. Do you have Show hidden items selected?

Yes, I did that from the View pull-down menu in Windows File Explorer. I also selected ALL SUB-FOLDERS from there as well and ALL SYSTEM FILES. It seems like something just isn't working with these searches.
