The link you posted for an anker 737 for $90 isn't even the same anker 737 powerbank I bought. The one you posted is 25600 mah which is more mah than the one I bought and much smaller in physical size. Yes that includes a charger for it but that isn't even the anker 737 powerbank I been talking about the entire time.

What ever you bought didn't come with a charger. That is not our fault but yours. You got what you paid for and your not going to convince me and others that you wasn't told that a charger wasn't included. You found a Anker 737 at a low price and agreed to buy what you got. If it's going to cost you more to buy a charger, you have no one to blame except yourself.

I bought the correct anker 737 powerbank. I didn't make a mistake here. If I'm buying a powerbank that looks like that, I would assume it comes with a corded charger or some type of charger to at least charge the anker 737 to an outlet. I was surprised it didn't came with any type of charger and you needed to buy a charger if you didn't have one.

The moment you posted it cost $90 and came with a charger and then the link, I thought what in the world are you talking about. So when I saw that other anker, I thought you\ been confusing it with another anker product then which you did. So it seems you were mistaking the anker 737 I been talking about with what you posted in the link then the whole time. I have no problem knowing that I would have to buy a charger to connect to the anker 737 powerbank if I didn't have any charger at all. I was just surprised it didn't come with one.


But my questions of could I charge the anker 737 with the dell xps 15 9520 usb-c charger got mixed answers from almost everyone here. Brink said it is a risk. Then another poster here said it shouldn't work because it doesn't match the numbers. Then on the linustechtips forum, few posters said it would absolutely work and it is safe. Then anker support told me it would work.

If you think it will work why don't you plug it in and try it?

@newmann, from what I can see, there is only one Anker 737 Power Bank. The one I just ordered will be identical to yours.

I also have a Dell XPS 15 laptop. Mine is the previous model to yours. I have the XPS 9510 and yours is the XPS 9520. I believe the only difference is that yours uses a 12th generation CPU and mine uses an 11th generation CPU.

When I travel, I only carry the 130-watt charger that came with my XPS 9510. I use it to charge my Android phone and any other USB-C devices I happen to carry with me. USB-C devices will limit the power from my 130-watt charger to whatever is required. That is how the USB-C standard is designed to work. The Anker tech was correct when he said you could use the 130-watt Dell charger to charge the Anker 737. I will also use the Dell 130-watt charger to charge my new Anker 737 Power Bank.

You can probably use any charger to charge the Anker 737 Power Bank. The only thing that matters is whether it supports PD 3.1. If it does then it will fast charge the Anker 737 Power Bank. If not, then it will slow charge it.

Anker 737 Power Bank supports USB Power Delivery 3.1. That means:

• For Anker 737 to fast charge a device it must also be PD 3.1
• For a charger to fast charge the Anker 737 it must also be PD 3.1
• In both cases you must also use a cable that supports PD 3.1

If the Device is not PD 3.1 then the Anker 737 will slow charge it.
If the charger is not PD 3.1 the it will slow charge the Anker 737.

What is unknown is whether the Dell 130-watt charger supports Power Delivery 3.1. You can either call Dell and ask or someone can just try to charge the Anker 737 Power Bank if they have one. You will know for sure soon enough.

In any case the Dell 130-watt charger will probably charge the Anker 737 Power Bank. How fast depends upon whether it supports PD 3.1 or not.

A little more searching online leads me to believe Dells chargers uses a proprietary charging standard designed for its own computers. Like I said the only way to find out is to try for yourself.

I changed my order from the Anker 737 to the Anker Prime 200W Power Bank. It will be delivered tomorrow morning, Monday 12/18.

Now THIS is relevant information. You two should now compare DELL chargers, if they're the same, then it'll work. If not, then we're at square one again.

This is the conclusion I've come to also. There should not be any risk involved. It will simply just work, or not work, depending on the implemented specs in the charger itself.

I use the universal Lenovo USB-C 65W charger for anything that uses USB-C and it works really well. It is fully dynamic.

They report the following specs:
5-20V
MAX 3.25A
65W
I believe it uses PD2.0/3.0 specs, which is quite dynamic, implemented up to 65W.

Those markings on the Dell charger could mean the following:
5-20V
MAX 6.5A
130W
With similar specs implemented as the Lenovo one.
But don't quote me on this.


That amperage is the important value to know so you have a thick enough cable. The Dell cable is for sure much thicker than the Lenovo one, to support that higher Amperage without risking catching on fire. That USB-C cable is soldered to the charger though, so there is no risk that the user replaces it with something smaller.

The specs of the Dell 130W power supply are simply:

• Input: 100 ~ 240V 50 ~ 60Hz
• Output: 5V 1A/20V 6.5A 130W

The only thing proprietary about the Dell power supply are the input and output electrical currents.

When you plug the USB-C cable output of the Dell power supply into a device with a USB-C port, the device itself limits the voltage and amperage being input. This is why I can plug the output of the Dell 130W power supply directly into my Google Pixel 7Pro phone and the phone itself knows how to limit all that power down to the 23 watts of power required by the phone. All USB-C devices follow USB-C design standards to enable them to do this. This is why I can use my Dell 130W power supply to charge and operate every single one of my USB-C devices.
