AWCC, at least in my experience. I do hope it's doing better for you
Ahh, yes I find it great, it stores all my macros and changes the colour of the keys for each different game, It once had real problems doing update. The problem here is the Windows 11 UWP suspending apps

I believe there is no solution to what 22H2 decides to suspend and no way to change it :(

Never been a big forum guy but I made an account to reply to this thread (& hopefully help), as I've struggled for a solid week to try & figure this out.
After trying everything under the sun (including the suggestions in this thread), it seems like I found the fix for my R9 (so far). While I got the regular version of AWCC to work once or twice, putting my PC to sleep or restarting put me back at square one. I dug through Dell's support website, trying to find older versions that might be "more compatible" with Win11 & found that there are actually 2 different AWCC installs that you can download for the latest version. The basic & a "full installer" version.
I did the usual steps that we all know by heart now (uninstall, clear regedit/%appdata%, etc), ran the full installer version, restarted my PC, & I'll be darned if the regular app booted like it never had a problem.
I left my PC running over night because I was scared once it turned off, I'd be back at square one. Not sure what happened but I had to hard reset the next morning. To my surprise, PC booted up, I clicked AWCC through the Start menu, starts up smooth as silk.
I'll leave the links below. Let me know if you run into any issues or if this ends up working for you. Hopefully it's the latter (y)

Where I found it:
Support for Alienware Aurora R13 | Drivers & Downloads | Dell US
Direct install:
https://dl.dell.com/FOLDER09190551M...Center-Application_NT8C9_WIN_5.5.23.0_A00.EXE

Cheers!

I realized this probably looks super fishy with me being a new user, that being my first ever post, & me just expecting people to trust the links in my reply haha
If you don't trust the links, to find the "full installer" version: go to Dell's support website, manually select a PC (I couldn't find this install version for my PC so I used an Aurora R13), go to Drivers & Downloads tab, & it should be the very 1st one in the list (followed by the normal .exe download).

Hope this helps!

Great help thanks, I just wondered did you loose all your saved macros and custom fx colours? ansd what exactly did you uninstall, I have been chasing this problem ever since upgrading to 22H2 I tried some older versions but no joy and also wondered if the the alienware update for windows universal app had anything to do with it

Unfortunately I did lose all of my settings from my previous working version of AWCC but I never really messed with the FX colors too much. I was able to rescan games into the library (manually add too) & everything like I did when I first got my PC. I haven't had any issues so far. The only thing I haven't tried is putting it in dark mode because I've still got a little PTSD from it not working & having to go through all of this troubleshooting to get a resolution.

As far as the uninstall process, I made sure to use the uninstaller in the local files instead of going through Control Panel (my local uninstall tool was here: C:\Program Files\Alienware\Alienware CC Components for AWCC ). After the uninstall finished, I restarted the PC as prompted. After my PC booted back up, I checked C:\Program Files & C:\Program Files (x86) to make sure there weren't any files left behind (if there were, I made sure to delete said files & empty recycling bin). After that, I followed these steps I found on another website so I knew what files I could remove in regedit/%appdata%/%programdata% without potentially damaging my PC Alienware Command Center Not Working? 8 Ways To Fix It. Once I finished those steps, I restarted the PC again & then proceeded with the full installer tool that I linked above.

Also, I've been having some issues with CoD Modern Warfare II recently (I believe these are either corrupt game files or something to do with my Elgato capture card) so I've had to restart my PC multiple times while troubleshooting those issues. Every time I've booted up since using the full install tool, AWCC boots up flawlessly every time.

I'm eager to hear if this helps so definitely let me know if it does. Good luck!

@Whobrey Thanks for the help, it is very much appreciated. At the moment I have created a shortcut to AWCC.exe on my taskbar, my machine always boots to the correct custom colours I have set as default, so I changed the AWCC service to start automatically without the delay and a few seconds after the machine has booted up I click on the taskbar icon, nothing happens until I press a macro key or start a game then the AWCC all works normally. I have tried so many things and loaded the Macrium image so many times I will try your recommendation when I am feeling less fed up with it. I just wondered if anyone new where all the custom fx colours and macro were stored so I could copy them and then replace them after a clean install

@Whobrey Hi This should be the location of where your FX schemes are stored, I don't know if this includes the macros or not, If so it would save setting up all the colours and macros again.

I tried your method and it worked fine, however when I replaced the FX folder it did not replace my macros or schemes so I used Macrium reflect and returned to how it was, but at least we know that your method works fine. Maybe I should have restarted a couple of times or persevered and redone all my settings, but great help from you, thanks

Awesome! I'm glad it worked and you didn't have to re-setup any of your colors or macros!
