Broken PC after last nights windows update

To access boot menu on Omen, insert your Macrium recovery media, repeatedly press F9 while booting the machine to open the Boot Device Options menu. Once the boot menu appears, use the up or down arrow key to select the USB flash drive as your boot device, and then press Enter. (It should be one of the options under UEFI boot)

Just to say I finally got to the bottom of this. I could put off the Feb update no longer so couldn't even get system restore to get a working computer back
It was surprisingly easy to deal with a real Microsoft person who sain I needed to upgrade my BIOS and then gave me a link to get back to him.
I then found help in the HP community re finding the BIOS as it wasnt spotted as needing updating by the HP Assistant software.
Someone even said I might not need to get back to MS as the BIOIS update may solve the Windows problem - and it did!

I did go on the do a full disk image back up after reading here, though not sure how I would use it if the PC wouldnt boot.

So a macrium image of both the C (operating system) and D (installed) programs if reinstated to a wiped machine would result in all the installed programs working would it?

Macrium tells you which partitions you need to image to recover Windows, if you have a non standard setup you may need to adjust that. Following a restore you will have a working system restored to the point at which the backup was taken.
