Solved cannot delete corrupted folder

I have a empty corrupted folder on the microsd which cannot be deleted. I tried using CMD force delete, unlocker delete, and Auslogics shred but to no avail. format the microsd or ignoring it are my remaining options ? Thanks.

If what is in that thread doesn’t work, is there a problem with formatting? It seems the fastest option. Just copy any needed files from it first.

In cases like this, this is where any one of the live Linux distros come to the rescure. Boot to a the Linux usb drive, browse to the Windows partition and delete away.

  • System 3 is non compliant Dell 9020 i7-4770/24gb ram Win11 PRO 26200.9168
I use Nana zip (7-zip) to delete these phantom folders. Any compression app will do though. Just right click the folder and select add to archive. Select 'Delete files after compression' then ok. It should disappear.

Delete the zip folder.

[ chkdsk C: /r ] worked. it repaired the corrupted folder. I subsequently accessed and deleted the folder.
