Solved Canon Printer won't print

This is an excellent printer but today it does not want a job. I have been told it is in an "error state". Don't know why or how. Should I uninstall? I've tried all recommendations - turn off pc, printer and router. No deal. Thanks.

Sometimes turning off devices isn't enough, may need unplugging the power cord/s and try again.

Printers are certainly fussy little devils. I had to reinstall it and now it is working. Such a pia for a very innocent action that I took with it which made it sick -- I opened the printer which used to reside in my startup window - now does not - how? Anyone? Anyway, I opened it and was looking at an area to set page sizes for printing. That's all it took. Went into "printer is in an error state." That'll teach me.

I turn my printer off when I'm not using it. Then I fire it back on when I do. And then turning the printer off again when I'm done.

You can also try re-booting the machine with either the printer powered on, or leaving it off until the re-boot is completed and then turning it back on.

Doing it that way has prevented errors for me.

Remove printer from device list and add it back again.

Hi, Patsy. So did it start a print? Is there paper stuck in it? You will get an error state if there is.

I always turn it off when not using it. Didn't seem to matter.

Hi ants-- it is a Canon TS3500..very nice printer. I am the problem no doubt. No paper stuck cuz it wouldn't print. Anyway, after my angst of reinstalling, I did it and all seems fine. Thanks very much for looking in.
