Can't Download Steam on my hp laptop

I want to play steam games on my hp windows 11 laptop, but when I try to install the steam software I get the screenshot below, I followed the attached link to the app settings but there's nothing there that would allow my to download non-microsoft applications, I tried looking in privacy & security settings as well and can't find anything, does anyone have any ideas that might help, or at the very least a support number I could call?

Is your Windows 11 pre-installed in S mode? That will prevent installing Apps that are not found in the MS Store.

To check if your computer is in S mode, look in Settings > System > About.

If true, you can override the S mode setting by following:

Switching out of S mode in Windows - Microsoft Support

Learn how to switch out of S mode to install apps from outside of the Microsoft Store or to upgrade to Windows 11.

Once a machine is out of S mode, the setting cannot be reversed.

Any laptop that has "S Mode" shipped by default are not going to be good for playing games. I would not bother removing it to install steam as pretty much all games will be unplayable.

There are plenty of games in the microsoft store you can play.

The average user is much safer with S mode. Keep it on.

Windows in S mode is very common on low-end budget laptops. And as was mentioned, most laptops like that will not play games well or at all.
