Canvasbio Fingerprint Scanner won't work. Code 45

I use a Samsung Galaxy Book Flex NP730QDA-KA1US

Recently, my fingerprint scanner stopped working. The Device Manager info said Code 45. I went to Microsoft's forums and read this (pic attached) and followed method 1 and 2. When I uninstalled the driver from device manager, I then checked for windows update but nothing showed up even after a restart. I went to Samsung's page but they don't let you download individual drivers. They only have you download some updater app that doesn't have the driver I need. The fingerprint scanner is a Canvasbio device. I don't know any more than that. I looked on these forums and the only other similar problem I found had a reply that recommended
RUN> msdt.exe -id but when I ran that, it said troubleshooters have been retired. I'm at a loss because every other laptop I've ever owned had a way to download individual drivers, but Samsung doesn't have that option.

Is there anything that can be done or do I have to do a system restore? Thanks for any help given.

Is there any biometric/unknown devices shown under device manager>view>show hidden devices? If yes then you can try installing an older driver:
Right click device.
Choose update driver.
Choose ‘browse my computer for drivers’.
Choose ‘let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer’.
Choose the compatible hardware from the list, then choose next.
Choose one of the older drivers from the list shown, then click next.
This will then reinstall the driver.

It's not listed there. In order to uninstall it, I had to open the "hidden drivers" option and select biometrics, and delete that. So it's nowhere in device manager anymore. I can't find the drivers anywhere online to even install them. Samsung's website doesn't list any driver downloads like every other company does. Leave it to them to be different, eh?

update: Someone said I'll have to contact Samsung directly and ask for the driver or restore my PC. They also mentioned how Samsung doesn't make individual drivers available on their website. That's unacceptable to me. I followed the recommended advice from Microsoft support and there's no way back now. What company doesn't make their drivers available for download? Things get corrupted and need to be reinstalled sometimes, like this. I found that Code 45 means a corrupted file, so the only solution is to uninstall the file and reinstall it. That's a normal thing to do when owning a laptop. Hardware drivers sometimes need to be reinstalled. I had a bluetooth problem on my Asus laptop that required me to remove all bluetooth drivers and reinstall them. No problem there. Samsung has an app from the Windows store that keeps all drivers updated but it doesn't list the specific biometric driver I need. I've also had problems with it before. One of its Intel chipset updates conflicted with a Windows update for Intel.

I think this is a good reason to recommend against buying Samsung laptops in the future, and it has certainly made me not want one in the future.

If the device doesn’t show under device manager>view> show hidden devices then that usually means the device has failed.
Have you downloaded the Samsung update app from the Microsoft App Store? This is how you would be able to update drivers.

I tried every which way I've read about to re-obtain the drivers but the driver won't download. Others have had the same problem as me and their forum posts on different sites went dead after a while with no solution. I'm just going to make an easy pin to remember and log in that way.

Under normal circumstances I wouldn't recommend this but you could try one of the third party driver updater programs.

I use several programs:
DriverEasy. (free license if other driver software finds a driver which DE doesn’t).
Driver max. (I purchased a lifetime upgrade)
Driverbooster. (Often has 6-12 month premium license for free via free software sites; no updates to the program though)
CCleaner driver updater. (CCleaner purchased for £1.
Of the three DriverMax regularly finds more drivers than the others.
