Cheap licenses real or fake? I see them pop-up all the time so is it scam and what are the limitations?

i.e. MS uprade to 11 Pro is $100

online usually low as $10

what's the truth?

Dozens of people here have used Stack Social for upgrades with no problems that I'm aware of. I purchased two Win11 Pro Retail licenses from them a few months ago, they activated properly and I haven't had any issues.

There are many sites that are more questionable, and they are selling volume license or OEM keys, I'd steer clear of those vendors. IMO, you can't go wrong with Stack Social.

Most of this licenses were initially intended for different regions (with low income) - thus, their price. This keys sometimes had issues (couldn't be activated or were deactivated latter) - if used globally, especially in U.S. - yet no issue if used in EU Regions. Other, quite a lot - were part of Windows 7/8/8.1 recycle/refresh/refurbishment program. Then there's the volume license keys - intended for corporate systems, some leaked (this to would latter end-up deactivated - if used in regions where the corporation in question had no affiliates) - other recycled - due to corporate bankruptcy and such (this usually worked). The popular online sellers - like those mentioned above - usually work with recycled keys and only with regional keys that also work in U.S. (if they have business there).

The official/retail model is, well... old - in the sense - that it follows the same business model as it did 20 years ago... minus - getting a physical package, this days are mostly sold digital-only... so... Online. 😄

I always make sure I get Retail keys, and only buy when you're ready to use the key. Once it's activated successfully, you shouldn't have future issues. However, if you sit on the key for a long time and then find out it won't activate...

Never had a problem with Windows 11 from StackSocial, I use a MS account so it ends up as my digital license.

Office on the other hand, 90% chance it wont reactivate on a reinstall, depending on the time between installs.

P.S.
Stack social, in my opinion, sells Volume license keys, like everyone else.
I had it out with them once, they didn’t and wouldn’t deny it and kept diverting the email conversation.

Never had a problem. I've installed Office from StackSocial on numerous devices, numerous times since 2019.

    The only thing it lack is USB-3.2 on the front face but it has 3.0 on the back
Having trouble running that PID checker.

But for Office, last time I checked a key from StackSocial, (as per my notes) I got the following error and advice.

Error code 0xC004C003 indicates that
Windows activation failed because the product key is invalid, blocked, or not recognized by Microsoft servers, often occurring after major hardware changes or clean installs. It is commonly resolved by running the Activation Troubleshooter

We all know the Office activation troubleshooter doesn't work anymore, it's just an endless loop.


Regardless, Office will activate using these keys, but how long that remains on the server before being flagged is anyone's guess. It didn't stop me from purchasing 5 keys last week.
