Computer shows BIOS splash screen on wake

I've started to get the BIOS(UEFI) splash screen when the computer wakes from sleep. It doesn't enter the BIOS just shows the splash screen for a few seconds then opens as it should with the last used windows open. Anybody any idea what could be causing this. I have searched with google but nothing I got provided a solution. Have checked that it's not going to hibernate.

In the BIOS, on the Boot tab, there's a setting called Fast Boot.

When enabled (or set to Ultra Fast), you won't see the splash screen, when disabled, you will see the splash screen.

    Still assembled, still runs. Haven't turned it on for 15 years?
Doesn't seem to be the fast boot setting. I've tried that and it doesn't make any difference. But thanks for the suggestion it was something to try: I'm not aware of changing anything before this happened. It may be something the update before last changed but I've not seen other people raising this issue.

It seems to be related to my sleep shortcut I have on the taskbar: It doesn't happen when I use Start/power button/sleep, only when I use the shortcut. It's strange as it's been working fine for months since I set it up: I'll redo it and it will probably go away. It seems a bit strange as the shortcut sends the computer to sleep like it should and it wakes up fine just showing the splash screen as a little bonus.

While waking from sleep?

I've never seen that. I always disable fast boot.

I happens whether Fast boot is disabled or not. I remade the shortcut but it's still happening but bizarrely not from Start/power button/Sleep.

The sleep after windows vista, make also a hibernation file. If your psu is faulty at 5vsb line, the computer cant use the files from ram and use the file from the ssd/hdd (hibernation). You can also check if you change sleep button to make hibernation.

Anyway from hibernation you cant go in bios. You need to go into windows and the restart your machine. This is the way that the bios works. In old machines you can go in bios from hybarnation but was a security risk and fixed.

Maybe related to the command string in the sleep shortcut? Maybe try another command string? Ensure Hibernation is disabled and try Method 3 in the following article? I know it refers to Windows 10 but probably works in Windows 11 as well: -

I think that sleep does not use the hiberfil.sys file. It is only used by Hibernate. I run with hibernation disabled and sleep works perfectly. The computer goes to low power state but is still "running".

No that's not it. I tried that and I still get the splash screen

I have hibernate disabled so it's not that.
