Could some one help, please?

I have been trying to upload Kali for a duel boot situation, but no matter what I have done it still keeps boot to windows. My bios is a bit confusing, and have been able to disable secure boot. I have also been trying to upload the latest live ISO of Kali, IDK if that matters. They said being a mail carrier with dyslexia, was going to be a pain, but I think coding or computers is worse. Haha, Thanks for any help.

There is quite literally, a gazillion sites to tell you how to dual boot win and linux. The above is good, another is How To Dual Boot Linux and Windows 11 and many, many, many more.

I don't recommend Kali as your 1st linux attempt (?) but if you're bound and determined, here's the home page Kali Linux | Penetration Testing and Ethical Hacking Linux Distribution

Have you considered running it as a VM? I run Linux Mint on my laptop using VMware with Win 11 Canary as the host. Fusion and Workstation | VMware

I really don't recommend dual booting Kali, it's not a good choice. I would either set it up as a VM or install the WSL feature and use it that way

First, with a 13th gen cpu, you really need to check/update to the latest BIOS to get the latest 12b microcode for the 13th and 14th gen Intel cpu's!!!!!!!!!!!

Having done that,
Download Kali and put it on a USB stick (Kali site will suggest how).
Then, to install Kali you boot to that USB stick.
"How" varies by computer - my lenovo's I would press F12 when it asks to boot to BIOS. On the ASUS I have to click F8.
then choose your USB and hit enter.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, I will check them out. Out of curiosity, anyone have any suggestions for alternatives? I use Ubuntu in WSL, and Fedora crossed my mind, but I wasn't sure. As for VM's, I started with VirtualBox and had it working. Kind of messed with my network though. I've heard things for and against VM's. Like Kali works better with GPU when not using a VM, and Use Kali on a VM because it keeps it in it's own environment, what are your thoughts? I know there's Hyper-V and VMware, maybe one of those would work better?

Virtual box is fine to use i run Linux Lite as a VM just remember to install the extension pack.
Linux Lite is Ubuntu based but uses XFCE as its desktop and has no snaps.

i used Ubuntu as my main OS for 20 years until snaps. i then used Debian testing for a while but i have just re-installed Windows 11 24H2. funny as it may sound i missed Windows 11, so Windows 11 it is.
