Hmmmm, yes, it's all about temps and that's were pumps speeds are more important than rad fans speed. many AIO coolers have constant speed pumps while with others the can be regulated. If pump speed is too low liquid can't get to radiator fast enough but if too fast heat doesn't have time to heat liquid enough to transfer from cold plate .

Most ignore the impact of the pump speed. But all the fan speed in the world won't cool a CPU is the fluid isn't moving, or is moving at a reduced rate.

The 5950X is a hotter running CPU. it's not rocket science.

They are hotter than 3700x on account of more cores but 5000 series are also allowed higher temps than earlier ones. My 3700x was limiting boost (not throttling) at 60-62c while present 5800x with same number of cores doesn't even at 85c with throttling (at or bellow base speed) at over 90c. That's just how AMD set algorithms to be able to increase max frequency.

Yeah, AMD does things strangely. So does AIDFA64 for that matter...
Note the pic on the right. It shows the CPU wattage averageat 82.5, but if you take the actual average of the minimum and maximum values, you end up with 55W.

As for AIDA64 Extreme... I'm on version 6.75 and they are up to 6.88. Time to update, and see what they changed.

Don't confuse actual electrical power and TDP. The are related but not linear, Electricity Watts are calculated with formula Watt =Voltage * Amperage. Watts for mechanical work (including heat) are completely different thing.
TDP is calculated and mostly a guess of energy wasted thru heat instead of doing some other work.
AMD is more "honest" as it declares it at full CPU (electrical) power but Intel at idle power.

I spent 11 years in electronics, then 2 years as an electrician.
I probably heard of Ohm's law and it's corollaries a time or three.

Oh yeah... I also majored in Physics.

Btw... version 6.88 of AIDA, shows the same stats.
On a side note... I've been using AIDA64 Extreme since way back when it was called Lavalys Everest.
Somewhere around 2006-ish.

Back on topic though... CPUs have a wattage rating so we know what type/amount of cooling we can be expected to need.

What is the purpose of TDP?
The purpose of defining TDP is to provide system designers/integrators with a power target in order to help with proper thermal solution selection.

oh dear o dear...who mentioned tdp? You said you're cpu is a 65w cpu, which it isnt, if youd said my cpu is 65w tdp then yes you are absolutely correct, But the way you say it makes it sound like you can only use 65w's on the cpu which is not the case.

In general description AMD lists only TDP so that's what is usually quoted. That is to help with choice of cooler

There are many paste (TIM) types and manufacturers, most good ones list characteristics including expected shelf and working life. Some cooler manufacturers supply own paste, either applied or not, Ones that supply it applied it's usually just even coat across whole contact surface at specified thickness. Cooler manufacturers like Arctic, Cooler Master, Noctua, supply own brand of very well known and respected paste which can also be bought separately. Times of notorious "Chewing gum" that would harden up to powder or stick the cooler like welded have passed although some stick pretty good. It's very delicate balance, Thermal Grizzly for instance make exceptional paste and other cooling helpers but even cheap ones like Halnziye makes a range of pastes for different applications.

Quiet isn't a good setting for a powerful computer.
I've made my own setting on BIOS. Till 50ºC the fan stays at the minimum. From 50ºC to 80ºC the fan speed increase linear from min (50ºC) to max (80ºC).
I'm sure you can build your own cooling curve setting.

Problem is Scan installed the CPU and Cooler, would I have to ask them to re-install the thermal paste or check the temps after collecting my system?

If I save my config of my BIOS settings could you guys maybe tell me the best settings? if I attach it as a file? to keep the temps as low as possible, I stated with Scan to not overlock anything so nothing should be overclocked. I did update the BIOS to the latest version and made sure the setting were as Scan set on sending out the system. It's not a complete system of Scan only some parts such as Case, Motherboard, CPU, Cooler, Memory and PSU.

Re the setup of the Corsair AIO the OP is using, I use the same one with my PC.

There are three pump speeds that can be set in iCue.
Quiet = 2200
Balanced = 2400
Extreme = 2600

The fans on the AIO radiator have the same three settings also in iCue. I run these at balanced on my system so they can crank up if they need to.
Apart from the 3 fans on the AIO Radiator I have an additional 7 case fans which are also on balanced setting in iCue, meaning if the temps rise the fans will increase speed as\when required. The 3 fans on the GPU are setup the same.

See the screenshot from iCue (fans 1-3 are the Rad fans) . Note it is winter here (-3 degrees Celsius) atm. So cooling an i9 13900k is easy this time of year.

I agree with you both, 65w tdp is what is usually quoted, i just felt if youd added tdp like you were meaning then id have understood and not then went on to say that it uses over 65w under load which it does, the way things are written dictate what they mean is all. I got you though no arguments from my side, Just mis-understood the way you were writing, I would for example say my 10700k is 95w TDP but is capable of using up to 205w stock, More with OC. Just to get the full picture is all. Enjoy you're golf! Im gonna go do some myself, Got the masters to play at augusta! 2nd season so hopefully do better than last and get the win!
