I would update the Bios, your version is at 0602, current release for your board is 1220.
On my friends Z790, doing a bios update fixed all his BSOD he was getting and now his memory runs at XMP 3.0 DDR5600.
Before it would only work at DDR4800 with out BSOD all the time.

hey PenPusher, just upgraded my bios to 1220
I tweak the ram setup to 5600
I’m still surprised that the system is choosing by default the frequency of 4800 whereas I bought 5600…

Here is the result of the memtest86+ after 11 passes (at 4800mhz apparently…..)

Have you enabled XMP profile on the "EZ Mode" Bios setup screen?

Which memory slots are you using on the motherboard?

XMP is currently disabled in the bios
Slots used are Dimm_A2 and Dimm_B2

Ideally you need to use 2 and 4 for best practice. To post screen shots of the Bios settings use a USB stick formatted as fat 32, then F12 key to record screen shots onto the stick.

Edit: I see you have changed the mem slots used!
DDR5-4800 is the default for these ram sticks, have you enabled XMP3.0?

In fact I'm not sure about slot numbers as in the memtest it's 1 and 3 but in the bios seems like 2 and 4 ...

If you enable XMP3.0 (on the Bios screen in your screen shot) it will also increase the voltage required for running at DDR5-5600 so you may have been under volting the ram.

Do you have CPU-Z? this will display all default ram settings.

Yes... this will enable the optimum settings for the ram. After you set the XMP, don't touch any other Memory timing settings...

When you enable XMP tab, this will setup the defaults for the ram you are using, no other tweaks should be required.

1) Open administrative command prompt and copy and paste:

bcdedit /deletevalue {badmemory} badmemorylist

2) Post a new V2 share link into the newest post
