Solved Disk Clean-up always shows 0.99GB Temporary Internet Files?

Just an observation. It's a weird bug that ignores user changes. i.e. Moving the location for 'Temporary Internet Files' still finds 'phantom' files and un-ticking the box were both ignored.

Not a bug, Files are in use I should imagine, go to the folder and delete them manually (back up first) as they are probably needed if deleted they will re-appear, example being thumbnails

If you look at screenshot in initial post the folder is empty,
In which folder should files be deleted?

I think Internet Explorer mode in Edge is the only component on windows that still uses temporary internet files, perhaps disabling that should make a difference?

In my case the folder was empty checked or not checked. As Bree said in post #12.

I've been testing HD cleaners for longer than I can even remember.....but Decades.
Disk Cleanup, from MS does only a fair to midlin' job of taking out some things related to Windows, but does little or nothing for junk created by non-Windows programs, like Firefox, Chrome, etc.

Even running Disk Cleanup in Extended mode, leaves a lot of junk on the HD.

So I set about searching through the Windows files for the hiding places for JUNK. There are a bunch of them. Ergo my Cleanup.bat program. (DOS Batch File)

After a busy day on the internet, my little Batch File can remove anywhere from 30k to 100+K of junk files.
And, that can be after I run Disk Cleanup, and several other so-called Cleaners.

And best of all, it can do it's job without even being installed on a user's HD. And, it requires NO setup or customization. When run, it just does its job without any User Intervention at all.

I use it almost every day and it always does a great job.

That's a lot of JUNK, that I'll never have to deal with again.

Good work but is it possible for the 'File Count' to include the amount of disk space recovered or is that beyond what a batch file can do?

Probably not in a DOS Batch File. But if that were of GREAT importance to me, I could just look at the Space taken up on the HD, both before and after I run the Batch File. But so far, that has not been my main concern. I just want to get rid of the JUNK, knowing that does save space, at least one K (Kilobyte) per file.
I'm not sure, how knowing the exact kilobytes or megabytes would really help me.
