Left click on the settings icon then click on "about"
And take a screeshot of what it says.
That way it will confirm one way or another

And when you run your Mail, Task mgr will also show it's called Mail.
%systemroot%\system32\taskmgr.exe

All those are about Outlook, an application that has an email capability.
It is different & its icon is different.

All the best,
Denis

Just as I said. One account is using Mail app and the other is using Outlook. Hence the difference is appearance (user interface). Case closed.

They are all windows mail. Non- outlook mail has white envelope icon. Outlook always has blue envelope. In my Start, mail has blue envelope, as always. Screenshot 2022-05-12 025928windows mail.png
Just as I said. One account is using Mail app and the other is using Outlook. Hence the difference is appearance (user interface). Case closed.
Start mail icon would be white unopened envelope if it was not Outlook mail. Only outlook mail has blue opened envelope icon. Please check the icon of your mail in Start.

Yes, this is a little detail. It started as Outlook Express back in Windows 98, 2000, Me and XP, it became Windows Mail in Vista and 7 and eventually became Mail app in 10 and 11 (not remember for 8). I am talking about the modern Mail app of course. If you need an equivalent of the older Windows Mail (similar interface), install Windows Live Essentials to get Windows Live Mail. Last time I checked the latest version (Windows Live Essentials 2012) works perfectly on Windows 10 and 11.

It is absolutely Outlook mail. Every time I have prob with the mail, I deal with OUTLOOK mail. Always. Here is the latest message from Outlook about one of my addresses. Ok guys, I am having a ton of electronic mess. I have a new phone and a new laptop and it is not easy to connect them. I need a geek

That email is from outlook.com, the online service providing your outlook.com, Hotmail.com and all other MS-owned email services.

It has nothing to do with the app you are using on your computer to manage your email.

We've been over this before.

And I repeat, I have been dealing with only OUTLOOK for more than a decade. I did not even know there area other mail system. So, as far I am concerned, its been OUTLOOK from the beginning. And it is still free OUTLOOK,, for me. OUTLOOK is all I have known, forever. Will you please erase all the readable addresses in my posts..

Please do the following.

Open your Outlook.

Click on the gear icon at the bottom as you did above.

264.png

In the panel that opens on the far right, select about.

265.png

Now you should see this.

266.png

Pretty sure that does not say Outlook. Call it what you want to, but the official name of the program is Mail, not Outlook.

Firstly, thanks for erasing my mail addresses. Secondly, thanks for calling it "your outlook". Finally, one of you calls it "outlook", but it is not mine.
and I did not call it by that name. It came preloaded with OS, and named OUTLOOK. It is obvious, though, that OULOOK does more than just mail, more so now. I am glad OUTLOOK kept my FREE mail, the only one I knew and know, whatever it might be to others.

Hmmm, I'm sensing some frustration :D

Regardless of what I call it and what you call it, you're not posting the information that will show you what program that you're actually using. I have no issues with whatever you want to call it - but it doesn't change the program's actual name.

At this point, call it what you want. It's no different than buying a Nissan and calling it a Ferrari. No matter what you call it, the program has a name and you're using the wrong name for it.

Until you post evidence showing that the program that you use for email is named Outlook, sorry, it's Mail, and we've all agreed you're simply calling it by the wrong program name.

Well, did you not just advise me to open ("your OUTLOOK')? IF it is not OUTLOOK, please do not add to my "confusion". What is it that you advised me to open?
