Edge Problems

Edge recently started powering up with more Microsoft forced BS. This time, I can't seem to remove it all.
A really annoying feature is the new notifications that I can't seem to stop the sign in on the new tabs, scan codes, and the news content the bottom of the page.
I have followed various guides to get rid of all this but nothing works. Damn Microsoft and their forced rubbish.
Is there actually a way to uninstall edge without it coming back?

No. Even if you are still unable to uninstall it (I was under the impression the uninstall no longer worked anymore in later versions but haven't tried it so could be wrong) I can say it will come back as it is a core part of windows and becoming even more so with new windows features depending on it. For sure it will come back when the OS upgrades. But no one is forcing you to use it. Install whatever browser you want and manually change any file types Edge is associated with to the browser/alternate app of your choice.
Though it's not my main browser, I can say Edge has come a long way and I find myself using it more and more. IMO it's way superior to Chrome.

Not exactly understanding this statement but if you are referring to widgets, you can disable them.

One thing you might try is getting a stand-alone offline installer for an older and therefore possibly less intrusive version. After installing, if it seems more to your liking than the current version you can rename C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\EdgeUpdate\MicrosoftEdgeUpdate.exe to something like MicrosoftEdgeUpdateNOT.exe. That way if you forget and do About Microsoft Edge in the help, instead of looking for an update you will either get an error or the spinning circle will just spin forever. It is similar to the old trick for disabling Opera updates by renaming the update exe.

I get tired of Microsoft adding bloatware that needs hours of research to disable.

I will try disabling updates with it and see what happens.

I lost all confidence in Microsoft when they started stealing information and pestering people with updates they don't want. I am not a fan of bloatware. I wouldn't mind if they didn't "enforce" it. Although no one forces us to use Edge, it is a constant pain that it "has to exist" when I never want to use it.
