Event ID 86 - fTPM issues

Back in October I enabled AMD fTPM in the BIOS for Windows 11 support. No problems since then, but last week I noticed an error in the event log every startup relating to AIK keys.

Doing some research I've seen a lot of reports of this error going back to September, and issues with PCs freezing/slowing down and even BSODs during use. Another PC here is having the same problem. I've only started having the problem in the last week or so (that I know of) and it has started to cause freezing during gameplay etc.

I've disabled the fTPM, Windows 11 still runs fine, I can still get updates. Since disabling it my PC seems smoother, no lagging/freezing or errors relating to AIK.

It seems that getting a physical TPM chip will solve the problem but they're impossible to get.

Ever since I installed Windows 10, and when I also installed Windows 11, I've noticed that Event Viewer does a LOT of over-reacting. So unless there is some "other" problem occurring, I ignore Event Viewer.

IMO, Event Viewer was a lot more useful, back in the Windows 7 days.

Yeah I did ignore it af first but after disabling fTPM my PC is performing better, as is the other one in the house. Maybe a recent Windows update has screwed with the certificate enrol. Even with the error the TPM is enabled/active and detected by Windows. I'll leave it off unless I get a problem.

Why do you need TPM.. other than to install Win 11? If MS does not categorically state the need and how it interfaces with the OS, why should we just follow blindly?

Well I guess we don't as I've disabled it and Windows still works

I'm sure they'll eventually start disabling features unless TPM is used, but until then...

Still not fixed

Check ebay, the availability has shot up and the prices have plumetted. You may find one compatible with your motherboard. Some of the vendors list the exact pinouts for comparison with motherboard manuals.

Anyone have ideas how to resolve this when using latest Insider preview 22621 build, latest Agesa 1.20.7 BIOS (Gigabyte) etc?
AMD say they have fixed the stuttering issues in the latest BIOS versions, but I thought this "Scep amd-keyid errors" were part of the problem, as they are still in EventViewer and often preceed BSOD

Same here in b550 agesa 1.20.7

Has there been a fix yet? If so can someone point me in the right direction?
