Event Warning 10016

Hi,



I'm running Windows 11 (OS Build 22000.348) and i've clean installed it from Windows 10 but i've started to receive this warning in event log





The application-specific permission settings do not grant Local Activation permission for the COM Server application with CLSID

{2593F8B9-4EAF-457C-B68A-50F6B8EA6B54}

and APPID

{15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402}

to the user Pz-DESKTOP\a_lex SID (S-1-5-21-1173407058-3351087823-1883602890-1001) from address LocalHost (Using LRPC) running in the application container MicrosoftWindows.Client.WebExperience_421.20045.455.0_x64__cw5n1h2txyewy SID (Unavailable). This security permission can be modified using the Component Services administrative tool.

To find what application is causing the warning open regedit. Make sure 'computer' is highlighted. On toolbar click
edit' then click 'find'. In the find what box type 15C20B67-12E7-4BB6-92BB-7AFF07997402. Click 'find next' You may have to hit find next several times before you are presented with information in the right pane about what program belongs to that appid.

A few minutes ago I answered a similar question from you regarding another warning in event viewer. Do these different warnings happen at the same time? If so then more than likely the same app is causing them.

These are just what it says, warnings. Unless you are getting recurring warnings about the same thing over and over, there's nothing to worry about. Did you go to event viewer for a specific reason? If one looks too long and hard at event viewer one will go crazy since the biggest part of it is for information. You may see occassional errors there as well, but there again unless they are prevalent, you shouldn't worry about them. The only time I go there is if I have a specific problem I'm trying to chase down or my system is not working like it is supposed to..

10016 errors are dcom errors. Unless you give security permissions the message will repeat on boot.

This is by design. You can also add a reg command to stop logging of this on boot.
I'll give it to you when I get home.

If you Google the error, you will find a Microsoft result that says: Ignore 10016 errors.

These 10016 events are recorded when Microsoft components try to access DCOM components without the required permissions. In this case, this behavior is expected and by design.

To hide repeated warnings in Event viewer:
(Always save your registry before playing with it)

Open registry editor by typing RUN from right click on start menu and paste regedit.exe
Paste this in the address bar:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\WMI\Autologger\EventLog-System\{1b562e86-b7aa-4131-badc-b6f3a001407e

Change "Enabled"=dword:00000000
to
Change "Enabled"=dword:00000001

OR

Just save this in file notepad as " Logging disable Event 10016 DCOM.reg "


As usual, if you want to enable the event just change in the fil:

to
"Enabled"=dword:00000001

Hate to dig up old thread, but I wanted to say Thank You . I've been looking for a long time to find a way to suppress this log. I just never felt brave enough to try and modify permissions. This 'hack' bad it easy. Thanks again.
