External HD without access


I don't think it has a bitlocker. I intentionally never used it.
With Windows explorer I see the drive letter

OK, no problem.

But there is one thing to consider.

They may click on the WD Passport Ultra drive in File Explorer and they may be able to access the drive without doing anything.
Therefore it could be a permissions issue with your account and laptop.

Can I suggest to you, Antero, that you also take your laptop in with you?

When I do this, it opens a dialog box that says "you must have read permissions to view the properties of this object". What can I do?

bom estado de funcionamento means in good order, working condtion - in other words Healthy. (Particao Primaria) ( Primary)
Disc C is encrypted. If Antero has Windows 11 Home , and logs in with Microsoft Account, Device Encryption will automatically encrypt the system disk. Device Encryption does not encrypt external disk/s-not possible.
The 1 TB Disk G Shows Capacity 931 GB Free space -795 GB . So Data - 136 GB. File system shows as NTFS. So it is not File system corruption.
Then why is it not showing the folders and files? ( Scratching my head). As antspants opines it may be a permission issue. I think @Bree should have a look at this.

After where it says: “HERE”S HOW” at the top, do the following:
  • Click on the DOWNLOAD button under “Here’s How” and download the reg file.
  • Save the reg file to your desktop and double click on the file
  • Agree or say yes to everything

  • Go to your File Explorer
  • Click on the G Drive on the left
  • Select all the folders & files on the right
  • Right click on the selected folders & files on the right side and select the following:
    • Reset permissions > Reset permissions for this folder, subfolders & files
