Unsupported means the BIOS thumbprint doesn't appear on MS's GitHub list of supported BIOS'es. The DBX situation is separate, I have one other report of a "funky" UEFI where the DBX was balky (from kelper).

No. The scripts lookup the EFI partition by asking Windows where is the 'System' volume and accesses it by the raw path. You don't need the EFI partition mounted at all. Everything else is either copied from \Windows\System32\SecureBootUpdates or downloaded to an LOCALAPPDATA folder.

The update script is smart enough to notice if you do have the EFI mounted under an existing drive letter. You can run the scripts from anywhere.

What he's getting is basically "your DBX byte data (read directly from the UEFI) is garbage".

At the end of the day, I really couldn't care less. But I should have left it alone.

I bought the system off Moses when he was a teenager and if I have to run Windows without secure boot, I shall.

Not much call for it less that I see some games are now demanding that it's on.
I can't run those games, regardless.

This was (Almost, now with the exception of more DB entries now) the same result back before I screwed up yesterday

The DBX entry has never said anything, since day 1, last year. So maybe I haven't done anything wrong?

You can't do Mosby without being in Setup Mode. And you should probably figure out how to put the UEFI in Setup Mode, because something inside DBX is corrupted. I can't replicate the problem in my environment. It might be an UEFI bug with your firmware.

Just an idea, how about rolling back the BIOS version, or reinstall the current one.

Hello and thanks for letting me join the forum. My apologies if I have skipped the formal introductions but I have a rather pressing problem.
I followed the instructions in the OP, ran the first Powershell command and that confirmed I did not have the 2023 files. so I ran the second Powershell command. Then I ran the first command again to check if the files had been added and the 2023 files were present. I tried to reboot my pc but it will not boot now, it's just stuck in an endless cycle of starting then turning off. I guess I have managed to corrupt the bios in some way.
The pc is a HP Elitedesk 800 G5 and it might be running win10 pro, I'm not sure.
Sorry for being 'that one'. I would really appreciate any ideas on how I can flash the bios from a usb. Thanks.

I would check the HP Website they have comprehensive instructions on the Bios Updating process including using a USB Drive.

Thank you, I have tried that on my laptop but the HP bios software fails to format the usb and won't let me proceed to make the usb drive. I'm currently setting up an old tower to see if I can get it to work on that.
I seem to remember that on older HP models there was a way to enter the bios by pressing the power button in a certain pattern but I can't seem to find any info for this model.

I did a search and the answer was use the F10 key.
To create a bootable USB Drive download Rufus from Rufus - Create bootable USB drives the easy way

Thank you. Tried f10, f2, f8 and esc, none of them work. Just waiting for my old tower to update then I'll try the HP bios software again. If that doesn't work I'll try Rufus

Hi to all.
@garlin and anyone really, I could use your help.

While trying to update to 26300.7674 by installing the KB5074170 msu,
I got hit again with the Windows 11 error:

Code: 
The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation

So I downloaded the 26300.7674 iso from UUP.
With SecureBoot enabled, I got hit with the same SAFE_OS error again.
I disabled SecureBoot during the installtion,
and while the installation was successful,
I am once again unable to access WinRE with the error:

Unable to access WinRE: The digital signature for winload.efi couldn't be verified

Code:

Your PC/Device needs to be repaired.

Error code: 0xc0000428

I have checked with your script and everything is up to date
(except from an updated BIOS from HP, which I am not holding my breath they will ever release).

I have checked everything with SFC and DISM.

I have made several attempts with
Code: 
ConvertConfig.ini -> UpdtBootFiles=0 or 1
in the UUP download package

and with the setting in Rufus to enable or not Windows CA 2023.

May I ask:

1. Why the "SAFE_OS phase with an error during BOOT operation" error?
2. Why the "winload.efi digital signature for this file couldn't be verified" error?
3. How can I access WinRe again?
4. What is the correct procedure to make an ISO from UUP with Rufus
that is able to be installed on an Windows CA 2023 updated machine?
