I might upgrade the laptop to 25 if MS graces me with the privilege but hardly know why I would need it.

25H2 is NOT desktop-specfic - or even specific to certain GPUs- as my own Pentium-N laptop - running Windows 11 Home - is running 55H2 right now

Celeron got replaced with Pentium-N- which is a Pentium Dual-Core variant. (I remember the Pentium Dual Core- and the G32358 that replaced it in desktop duties-. Neither was planned for desktops-.Pentium-N owes a lot to G3258, in fact.

I remember Intel's anniversary chip which had gamers in an uproar because it could be overclocked to 5 GHz and could be purchased for less than $100 US. I actually had one but alas, I failed to dodge the microcode that Intel used to hobble the chips via MS updates. This silver anniversary chip was also a celeron/pentium/ haswell variant if memory serves me correctly. Of course we're looking at single threaded performance here but man, that little chip was fast! Such were the days.

Some have likened the N95 to an intel i3 chip but I'm not certain that this is entirely accurate. Not unlike the G32358 it also enjoys an i7 lithography but only has 4 threads to its 4 cores. I am guessing that is why it's being advertised as a quad core and I sure suckered in on that. To be perfectly honest the OTVOC is a peppy little laptop. Perhaps this is partly due to the fact that it comes with gen4 NVMe and 16GB of DDR5 memory. It is hardly what I would call sluggish. That said I wouldn't recommend it for any work involving heavy loads such as gaming or video rendering. Would I buy it again? Probably not. Then again, considering the cost of it is around $300 US brand new. One should be able to purchase these used in a couple of years for a song.

It's good to know that the N95 chip can handle a 25H2 update. I will wait for its release as I've opted out of beta testing for MS ages ago. I am content with running 24H2 for the time being.

No, not yet. MS is still tweaking it, but should be mid/late Sep or Oct. It will dribble out as usual via Windows Update Ennoblement KB. Most of what will be in 25H2 is already in your OS (24H2) but asleep. The EKB wakes it all up. No big monster update to deal with.

Yeah I know, but Dev and Cannery are a bit more adventurous then I care for lol. Beta and RP give me enough excitement to deal with lol.

Do you know of a list of Vivetool Functions? I wouldn't mind taking a look at them and seeing if there's anything useful I might want.

I don't have one but someone out there probably has a complete list although some codes get disabled over time. I just try to keep track of the ones I use before they become a standard feature or they get removed, which ever comes first.

The Insider Dev channel is effectively the '25H2 release candidate', and has been since 27th June.

Is there a procedure for moving from 24H2 RP channel (26100.5067) to 25H2 RP channel? From what I'm reading it seems only possible if I move to the Dev channel from the RP channel, which I really don't want to do. I might consider a move to the beta channel, but I don't want to go back to dev (I've been an Insider since Oct 1, 2014...

And have had enough of the dev channel..

I was on 25H2 for I few days. I DL'd it from the Dump. I then used Macrium reflect to get back to 26100.5067. It is too much trouble to update The DEV channel without being in The IP. There is not that much of a difference. It would take a DL from The Dump till it was released for me.
