dragging the borders only changes the size of the window, it does NOT change the size of the text or content in the window, If you had say 10 jobs, it could display all of the jabs rather then having to scroll, but as I commented previously on my screen, the program content is so small that I need to grab glasses to read.

Whilst I am generally impressed with Hasleo, I do not feel entirely confident that its updates have been entirely fully tested prior to release.

It is New Kid On The Block, and I would advise any user to also do a backup now and then with another recognised alternative

I have no evidence based on my testing there are any issues, but e.g. I have used Macrium Reflect for many years and know it is rock solid.

I use Hasleo as a backup tool, working on assumption, it is very low probability both tools would fail at same time.

In simple terms, do not put all your eggs in one basket, particularly until Hasleo has a well proven track record.

I like this program and it works well for me. I usually install the latest version just to be current even if I do not have any problems.

Can you please put the version number in the download name? That will avoid any confusion if we need to install it on a future build or even rollback a version. Right now I had two previous versions in my download folder, so the last 2 are amended ...(1) and ...(2) because the filenames are the same.

I actually like it this way, you can download and overwrite the old version quickly.

It shows the version number, when you point at it.

I recently had a scary experience with Hasleo but now think I might've been able to fix it simply using the include MBR repair tool. I just want to make sure as I use this to back up three different machines. On my desktop something messed up my Network settings and System Restore failed. I decided I would restore a semi-recent Hasleo backup. I booted from a Hasleo emergency disk and the backup worked fine...until reboot. Windows would only boot to a very limited RE and I couldn't get past there...Startup Repair failed. Even though I restored to the same disk without changing any location options, I think that issue may have been the boot record. Ultimately, I also fortunately had a Windows backup image that I was able to restore from. However, I would prefer to use Hasleo...and it has worked in the past on a different machine. I realized after that Hasleo does have a MBR repair tool...included on the emergency disk. Should I have tried that? Otherwise, I guess I could've tried using a Windows install disk to get to the full RE, load a command prompt, and go through a sequence of bootrec/fixmbr>bootrec/fixboot>bootrec/scanos>bootrec>rebuildbcd?

@mccnavy - I can't tell from your computer description whether you're BiOS is using an UEFI-GPT or Legacy-MBR BOOTing environment. If UEFI-GPT, the actual MBR on your disk doesn't really come into play for BOOTing purposes so an MBR repair function may not have been able to help anyway.

The other thing, was your recent Hasleo backup a complete disk backup (incl. all the needed partitions for restoration) or just your OS partition? If UEFI-GPT you really needed the small EFI partition in your backup to restore. The best repair path for the EFI BOOTldr would be the "bootrec /fixboot."

@Froggie - Thanks for response. It is UEFI-GPT. The image was a "System Backup." After it failed to boot and I went back into Hasleo, everything looked fine in the drive map...partitions looked exactly like they should've been. It just wouldn't boot into Windows. Same machine, drive, etc.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to date. I do have one question.

I have downloaded and ran Halseo backup. It told me successful (opt 1) but which of the 3 options should I use

1. System backup.
2. Disk/Partition backup
3. File Backup.

~Which does all???

Depends what you mean by 'all'.

1. System backup - this backs up all partitions required to boot and run your installed windows. You can restore a fully working system from this. This will not include partitions (if any) that you may have that are just for storing data.

2. Disk/Partition backup - allows you to choose which partitions to back up. Useful if you also have a data partition that plays no part in running your Windows. If you make sure to include all the partitions used by Windows you can restore a working system from this.

3. File Backup - what it says, backs up and can restore your selection of files and folders. Useful for backup/restore of important user files, not possible to restore a working Windows - use option 1 for that.

reinstall the rest with 3
use 3 to do backups
I have no artificial partitions and C & D are internal, rest are USB drives

3. Log files are now stored to a separate folder
4. Include the domain/workgroup name in the subject of the notification email

I'm having a small issue using this program, I have it set to run a backup every three hours, which is fine, but the problem is if these backups happen to coincide with me gaming, my controls will freeze for a bit while I'm playing which is very irritating. I can't set a specific schedule to avoid the times when I game since I don't have a set specific time to play, it changes, how can I avoid this issue? I wish there was an option in the settings to ignore a backup if a specific exe is running or something

Ask on Hasleo forum - I doubt many users here could advise)

Backups every three hours is far more frequent than most users would require.

Better to keep data on a separate drive and use real time syncing by difference e.g. freefilesync.

You should only need to make incremental backups daily.

Is there no way to pause the schedule before you’re about to play?
I haven’t set one up so I don’t know.

If you open Hasleo, in the task window there is a simple PLAY/PAUSE button available for each task that has an active schedule.
