Help! Serious Windows problem

Ok.
It's just that I just regard FileOpen dialog as safer than SaveFile dialog because it does not carry the risk of overwriting anything i.e.
powershell -command "Add-Type -AssemblyName System.Windows.Forms; $f=New-Object Windows.Forms.OpenFileDialog; $f.ShowDialog() | Out-Null; echo $f.FileName"

All the best,
Denis

I just wondered if you had tried a restart at all before testing. Bearing in mind this recent issue with some drives losing all data, or dying, when writing a lot of data after a particular Windows update. Some were resolved by a restart, some failed. Assume your hours of astrophotography data was writing a lot of data?
