At User Accounts there wasn't a check box for 'Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer' so in the registry editor I had gone to
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\PasswordLess\Deviceto modify DevicePasswordlessBuildVersion by changing it's Value Data to 0. I then unchecked that check box in the User Accounts. I reset Windows and was surprised to find two names. There is only one name in User Accounts. I had tried rechecking that check box, resetting, and unchecking again, but that didn't help

Today, I will demonstrate the automatic Login to Windows without selecting the user account and entering the password with this coded batch script. This method works for both local user account and Microsoft account.

Usually this means you need to set up netplwiz again for any changes to the password or computer name.

That means that either the username or password has changed since you set up automatic login in NetPlWiz.
Go back to NetPlWiz, unset it [so you would have to log in manually] then redo it using the current username & password.

I agree with Denis. My solution when this happens is to do what Denis suggests 3 or 4 times before rebooting. Apparently something can get stuck and cause your issue, it needs a kick and can be achieved by performing this fix. I have had to do this on a few occasions.
I also agree that @Brinks tutorial is the best process to do the above..
