How do I stop folders from automatically being pinned to windows explorer?

Every time I open a folder it gets pinned to windows explorer. I then have to unpin it later on which is annoying. How can I stop folders from automatically pinning themselves to win explorer?

File Explorer, ... Options, Folder options, General, Privacy, uncheck Show frequently used folders.
