How to remove ghost entries in dropdown menus

After uninstalling some programs, orphan entries remained in dropdown menus. Does anyone know how they can be removed? Thanks in advance.

For future reference, use Revo Uninstaller, that will clear out any leftover dreggs.

Thank you. Wonderful tutorial, as always. Following the instructions got rid of the Topaz Photo AI entry, but not the other two. They are real stinkers, and show up regardless of file type. Other ideas welcomed.

You could always reinstall and then uninstall with Revo.

Appreciate the suggestion. This is a very strange set of programs installed by NCH. They are installed from within a program called WavePad Sound Editor. I have tried reinstalling WavePad and then uninstalling using Revo without luck in removing the ghost entries, but this does give me an idea: I'll re-install WavePad using the Revo Install Program function and see if that permits me to then fully uninstall it. Thanks.

You can also use the context menu.

Right click on the program installer and select "Install with Revo Uninstaller Pro". That will trace the installation and save a log to "Traced Programs".

There is also a "Logs Database" that may have the particular program you're trying to uninstall.



Edit: I just noticed that you're using a portable version of Revo Uninstaller, so you won't have a context menu.

Response redux: Did this and it worked. However, when I re-installed WavePad those errant entries reappeared. My goal now is to remove those entries without having to uninstall WavePad. All ideas welcome.

Perhaps you could scan your Registry for
pixillion
and remove its entries.
I use NirSoft's RegScanner for such jobs.

Despite not being aware of any pixillion problems, my Registry search found these pixillion entries which I'll examine and probably remove when I've made a new system image.

I think it's the top set, the Classes ones, that you'll be most interested in.
When I examine the other entries, I expect to find that they are related to the various searches I've done & files I've used when researching for this post.

I have NCH WavePad but do not seem to have had any problem with pixillion since it does not appear in the cleanup.reg file I put together to remove unwanted NCH & other context menu entries [copy enclosed for info, with .txt added to make it safe to open for reading].
There was a discussion of NCH's Doxillion but it didn't really come to any productive conclusion.
