Hi, I have a 13 months old "HP45L OMEN Gaming GT22-0xxx" Pc that just a month after warranty , don't want to boot to windows 11, giving an error ( 3F0 )boot disk not found". I booted in the bios (F.50) trying to reset it, but couldn't find any where how to do it.
I don't know if I am not mistaken, but this error seems to show more on HP PCs than other such as ASUS motherboard. My last PC that is 14 years old never showed such an error. I tested in the UEFI all the hardware that came out as 100% correct.

Can anyone help ?
Thanks

A bad disk is a possibility, but not the only possibility. Here are a couple of links you might want to look at:

1)
2)
3) “Boot device not found” - Hard Disk - 3F0 (this one was indeed resolved with a replacement ssd)

Thanks, but I am not sure its the HD, having a few times in the EUFI choseen "TEST HARD DRIVE/SSD- 2 passes" with a checked 'OK' . I was able to copy its content using the ''Plugable NVMe SSD Enclosure " to a new directory on my old ASUS machine. I would like to know is it possible to get an iso image of my PC from HP, for reinstalling it ? NOTE: my seller at Best Buy said "NO"
Tanks again for your help.

With the NVMe in the enclosure, you can make a Disk Image of that disk and save it to an External USB drive. Then you can Restore that Image to another computer, using a 3rd party Imaging app, like Macrium Reflect or your favorite Imaging/Cloning App.

Remember that if that Disk has errors or the files are corrupted, the Disk Image, being a mirror image, will import exactly as it is to the computer, warts and all.

I use Macrium Reflect. It offers two modes when creating an image. One is "intelligent sector copy" which only copies used sectors. The other mode is doing a full copy (presumably of the whole partition or drive.) The latter would enable recovery of deleted files.

I'm not sure what would happen if there were disk errors an "intelligent sector copy" was used. Maybe the issue could be avoided by running chksdsk /f before doing the image. (It would mark bad sectors as unusable.)

Corrupt files is another issue.

But you should be able to get an ISO that would help, someone in the forum should be able to point you to the right place. I'm not a tech type person but there are many here who are.
I too have HP 45L that is 13 months old with (knock on wood) not a problem like that. Other problems but not as serious as yours. Sorry for your problem, good luck - if you ever get it fixed and working I can send you a link for the FREE version of Macrium Reflect. It has saved my bacon more than once and I would not have a system without a backup.

If you make a Disk Image of your computer, be sure to Image the Whole disk, including the Hidden Partitions (no drive letters) If not, the new drive will not boot the computer.
As far as an ISO image from HP is concerned, they won't offer you one, but you can download Windows 11 directly from Microsoft Download Windows 11 You can burn this to your own USB Flash drive or DVD using the Media Creation Tool from the same page, to reinstall or troubleshoot your Windows OS.

Your Windows product key to activate Windows is saved in your Bios/CMOS;, so you don't have to type it in. The image is the same thing that HP uses except it does not have all of the HP Bloatware you don't need. If you want that stuff, you can still download it for free from the HP web site.

I'm not sure what would happen if there were disk errors an "intelligent sector copy" was used. Maybe the issue could be avoided by running chksdsk /f before doing the image. (It would mark bad sectors as unusable.)

Corrupt files is another issue.

Actually this is a common mistake. The preferred switch would be /r, which incorporates the /f switch (which tries to repair errors in the file system) but adds locating bad physical sectors on the disk and attempting to recover data in those sectors, move the data to good sectors, and mark the bad sectors so they won't be used again.

Right you are. My apologies. I actually knew that, although if I ever knew about the data recovery function, I'd long since forgotten.

/f runs quickly. /r can take a long time.

Hi to all
Its been a long time, since I left my message for help: I never encountered a PC problem that was never fixed by myself or friends. This one is way over my head. I feel that even HP has no fix for it...., because i didn't see many users who had an easy fix for it .

1- I am thinking if we can fix it now, is there a great possibility it shows again in a few weeks or months ?
2- Is this problem, a common problem that every PC builder has to resolve or only HP ?
3- If its mostly an HP problem, would it be a better choice to change the motherboard for another vendor such as ASUS, while keeping the HP casing , and components ?( I know the water cooling may be a problem to fix to another motherboard )

Hoping to hear from you on this matter , and thanks to all again

This is not an HP or any other Manufacturers problem, HP is just the assembler of computer parts. If it's not a hardware issue, it is an issue with the drive or the software.
If your SSD has Bad Sectors, it can be "Fixed" meaning Check Disk will mark the Bad Sectors and not save Data to those Sectors. But the drive is going to get worse overtime.
Download Crystal Disk Info and/or DiskGenius in my signature. Select your disk and view the SMART info, if it is any less than Good, it needs to be replaced.
If the disk is Good, then it could be some other hardware problem, like the RAM.

Hi Spunk
Thank's for your answer and the links provided..

1- Does it mean that the" EUFI tests of the PC " that I ran for more than 24 hours , on the hardware including the " WDC 1 To SSD drive " are unreliable ? . The EUFI results are : The SSD showed "0 % wear" with "100% life expectancy. and everything else was check as OK "

2- I bought another 1 To SSD stick (with a 3 years warranty ) yesterday , if I need to send the PC for repair,( no personal data on it other than the OS ).
3- I executed "chkdsk /f drive number : " on the SSD, connected as a usb attached drive with on my older WIN 10 Pro PC . It took 3.98 minutes to execute. At the end ofthe test, it wrote '' windows has analyzed the file system without finding any problems . The drive number is " K ". Is the operation is reliable ?. (chkdsk /f K: )

Its very possible with my lack of expertise that your comments are right, please help me to understand

Have a good day

    built using excellent components,
I just bought a new NVMe SSD 1To memory stick 1 To, and updated my memory to 32 gigs DDR4 Ram , and after that , I had win 11 reinstall.

1- The Pc is now back working perfectly in win 11 ( latest revision).
2- I checked my expected defective NVMe 1 To (13 months old ) for over 19 hours on my older PC, using " chkdsk k: /R " as administrator . it came out with no problems. After re-installing it in the HP Omen 45L (win 11) PC, the same "3F0 " error showed again, with the new RAM memory.
installed ...
Conclusions:
Is it the software tools to check the Ram or the NVMe that are not very reliable ?
