new laptop HP AMD win11pro build 25H2 MAY2026. I CANT load old machine driver I close a lot of services still nothing every time plug the USB IN it will recognise it any one know on this new version may 2026 what window done to block any old driver to work how to get around it thank you

as I said I have new HP laptop AMD WITH window 11 pro build 25H2. now I try to load machine with old driver every time I plug the USB To the laptop it will not recognise it even if I try to push the driver still not work is there after April window done something to win11pro

Why are you trying to load an "old" driver, and if it's for a USB, why the need for a driver at all - they should be native to the Windows installation?

EDIT

Or are you trying to say that the new computer won't recognise a plugged in USB device from which you're trying to install a driver ...? In which case, what driver? What type of USB device (external drive, flash drive ...?)?

i beleive they maybe trying to plug in an old DRIVE via USB and the new system isnt seeing the drive.

And does this 'USB' drive work on any other PC?

Is it a caddy with a drive you've put into it? A flash drive? Something else?

Please think of your readers. Sadly my crystal ball is down for unforeseen maintenance for the forseeable future.

To load an old driver,in the Search box,type in ---dxdiag ---
Then in the System page uncheck the WHQL box.
This allows you to download non Microsoft Approved drivers.How this affects the Operating System is unknown,
Do not leave WHQL permanently unchecked,its function is to prevent dodgy driver installation.
