Latest Windows update HP Smart just asks permission and freezes.

Tried to uninstall and re install. No go. :unsure::rolleyes:

Sounds to me like HP has not updated the HP Smart App to coincide with latest windows update. If that be so, and it is not compatible with latest WU, there's not much you can do until HP does update the app.
Depending on your printer, there may be a full driver and software package available on HP site. That be the case, you do not have to use HP Smart App. Uninstall it and use the software package instead.
My printers are a couple of years old and I chose to installed their complete software /driver packages.

Thanks for the heads up. It will eventually work if you leave it sitting. I really didn't want to install all the bloatware. Besides, it's an old printer 2012 but works like a charm. ;-)

I've not tested/tried it yet. been busy but.. I found on the App Store an update to HP Smart, updates to version: 151.2.1091.0

Interesting, I got an update on 1/5/2024 and It too was crashing, I did not note the version number. I'd be surprised if they put out the same version in just a few days. Since you can only get that app thru the MS Store I'm not sure how you would 'roll-back'.

Here (Lazyadmin), you can get instructions on how to use an older version of an app.

Yep, still takes about 2 minutes before it actually opens and asks for admin rights about 5 or 6 times. Rolled back again 😶

You're not missing anything. Seems to work fine for some users and not for others. I'm on the same version as you. I rolled back
