I have an issue with mouse hover animations on Windows 11

Hello!

I have an issue with mouse hover animations on Windows 11.

When I hover over an icon in the taskbar then move the cursor away, it will keep the icon name for like a second before disappearing, like if my cursor was still on it.

It also happens for some other hover over animations

I have had animations and peek disabled long time before it happened.

Any ideas on why this is happening / how to solve it would be appreciated!

Annoying mouse hover tips seems to be the nature of the Windows 11/Explorer UI...

I use StartAllBack.

I just tweaked this one today; you can't Disable it, but the timing can be tweaked.
I tried for 30000 milliseconds, but had to cut it down to 15000.
It works for me.

Unfortunately, this was not happening on my OS before maybe one week ago? I had no issue whatsoever with mouse hovering on any of your shown example, and now I have it exactly like what you shown. The software you suggested is a third party software that will most likely take some ressources to make it work, but I'll try it still.

Thanks for your answer. I've actually checked this tutorial and tried as shown but this is not exactly what I'm looking for. This only works for window thumbnails while hovering over an app. I'm talking about the text rather than the thumbnail.

I appreciate that you took the time to make a tutorial to find the tutorials but I've actually used this forum without signing up quite a lot before. The registry files provided here to fix various issues are extremely useful. Unfortunately, I didn't find a way to make my taskbar act exactly as it was before I encountered this issue.

There are two possibilites in my opinion that could have led to this : first, I recently installed a third-party program to try and pin apps on the screen (always-on-top) that might have interfered with Windows 11 UI. I've since uninstalled it but it didn't resolve my issue.

My second guess would be that one of the customizations provided in this forum mistakenly changes the way hovering over things in Windows 11 work. I'm not questioning the expertise of people here, but I'm rather doubting Windows 11 registry / settings acting up.

I didn't have any Windows update recently so that shouldn't be the reason for it by the way.

It’s not just you. Edwin showed his above in post 2.

Ok I've actually found a way to get rid of this!

Open the Registry Editor, go in \HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Mouse and find MouseHoverTime key.

First, make sure its type is REG_SZ and not REG_DWORD. Then, make sure the value is set as default value which is 400. Mine was set on 10!

I'm not sure what could have caused this key to change from default as I've never used the tool mentioned in the link.
