What's the actual resolution on the screen and is it touchscreen? $3,449 is cheap. The notebooks I used to buy were all $8,000+ when I didn't even have money as a student back then.

What laptops did you buy that were $8,000+? My first laptop in 2002 was an IBM workstation cheapie that was only $5,000.

Yeah, $3,449 was cheap. I really wish it had cost a lot more!

Yes, it's a touchscreen. They call it 4K+ as it is taller than a standard 3840 x 2160 4K. It's stunning and the best screen I've had since I ditched desktops and went to laptops over 20 years ago. I love the additional vertical screen space for my Interactive Brokers Trader Workstation charts and for Visual Studio. I additionally make use of the option to hide the task bar. I love all the extra vertical workspace.

IBM ThinkPad 770Z 9549-8AU, it was the latest and greatest as even the HDD was 14.1GB which was the largest at the time. It was the only HDD that died in I think 3 weeks and no data recovery house can recover the data. This was in 1996 or 1997 though so 2002 was way later. Even my Dell Inspiron 8000-8200's were expensive because I was the one who pushed the memory to what was used in the Latitude and the Precision which used the same motherboard but different BIOSes and also put in the nVidia Quadro which was how laptopvideo2go was started by other people on the Dell forums. Glad it's atleast 2160. Need to learn all these terminology to be honest. For IB, do you use Level 2 quotes or Nasdaq TotalView? I actually use ThinkorSwim more for the data and still do trading on the browser as I watch about 1800-1900 symbols and also have a script running to manually update the quotes for Microsoft Money which no longer has the quote server to connect to so I know in real time what my actual investment value is. I have so many browser tabs that it is driving me crazy as I am using tabs like bookmarks so I will basically when I have time go through the tabs and then close it after I am done with it if I no longer need it for the future. I also own and run a Internet Service Provider remotely so I have a ton of things I'm doing at the same time. When I pay bills, I still prefer to write everything down and confirm it as it is written in two different places in addition to the actual paper statement, the third one is more a list of the bills paid that day so I will then add up the total $ and then on the next day, put in the sell order for Money Market Mutual Funds to cover whatever I paid so it posts in time. The more space, the better. I'm still thinking about what to upgrade to in the future and I got spoiled with the numeric pad from the ASUS G74SX-3DE but that is also a 17.3" machine which might not allow me to board a flight when I travel once in a blue moon. My Dell XPS 15 9570 ended up being free as Microsoft for whatever reason forgot to charge my credit card. I still wonder between a business machine like the latitude and a gaming machine, which is supposed to be more powerful in terms of load, since I don't play games.
