when attempting to run the v2 log collector my PC froze. verifier is supposed to be still running?

You reported that there was no BSOD.

For no crash when the tool is started instructions are to open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:

verifier /querysettings

For a WDV crash instructions are to run V2.

How come you're running V2 when there is no crash,

The WDV tool was used to create crashes then you no longer knew how to run it.

Then you could no longer run administrative command prompt commands.

It's not making any sense.
