Just tried that, Void is real. print screen just took a picture of it

It has nothing to do with monitors, they are just poor slaves displaying what they are told to by GPU and OS. This is not happening in Linux Mint.
Don't think it's driver's fault, during many years I had many, many drivers an different GPUs.

Isn't that a default behavior if you have other monitors connected? Like the middle screen only only have "hard borders" on top and bottom because you have extended display on left and right? If you "Disconnect this display" all other monitors and leave only one, you will have "hard borders" on 4 sides.

This is with only one monitor connected. Disconnected others until this problem is solved or run out of options.

Okay, I agree. That is wierd. I disconnected my 2 other monitors via display settings (not physical disconnection) and I got hard borders on 4 sides. Maybe the extended display is still working even if the monitors are physically disconnected? Did you also disconnect the displays from display settings?

Maybe, didn't disable other monitors from settings because it's difficult to get them back but they are nowhere to be seen because that are not physically connected right now.
Just looking at my old HP laptop, Intel based and running W10. It never had any other monitors connected since clean W10 install, same thing is happening.

Your issue is making me so curious.
I tried on my Asus laptop and the left, right and top have hard borders except for the bottom because the display is extended to the touchpad below.
