Yup. Those guys. Probably would have been an idea to remove that part of the firmware before releasing a second generation with the same problem when they already knew it didn't work correctly in all their previous generations. But hey, where's the profit in that? Intel will happily grant Microsnot a little microcode to throttle CPUs that perform too well but why repair an unsightly annoyance if just makes OCD clients like myself buy more? Besides, it must be a real strain to write something in the instruction set like "do not show in device manager". Might likely give someone a brain tumour or something equally sinister. Instead, let's just give the domestic end user the same old issue again, and again, and again... Top it off with a little Sceptre sauce and viola! A treat for the most trusting. After all, we just love those little yellow triangles in device manager. They look so pretty. Yes. I think we'll keep him. We will call him George and we will feed him and check in on him every day. After all, this is the way.
