Is there a way to revert back to old start menu after recent preview update

Just installed the latest windows 11 preview update.
The last time my start menu changed I have a reg key and also vivetool to take the start menu back to the old style. They don;t seem to be working now.

Has anyone found a way on the latest preview to revert back?

It's been like 12 hours since the update broke the old Start Menu, so maybe a little time, If it's able to be retrieved at all. From what I have read, it isn't.

Try Start11 v2 or StartAllBack or another 3rd party Start Menu

I have this question too. My ViveTool changes seems to be ignored after the latest update.... i'm afraid the old version is simply not available in the latest builds.

The old menu usually won’t load at all now because Microsoft has disabled the underlying code paths, so the result is a non‑functional or ignored Start menu.

It safely toggles the “All Apps / All Programs” section using a Windows policy key — no third‑party tools, no installers.
Includes an optional Start Menu shortcut for instant switching.

The key problem of the new start is its size (it's 2\3 of my screen). Also, I guess this tool will just hide the all programs section but not actually resize the window, so it will be just a blank space.

It also broke Explorer Patcher. I rolled back to 8457 and the Windows 10 taskbar came back. Microsoft keeps breaking things for no good reason.

I actually expected they introduced customization first instead of removing the old Start.... this was a big surprise to me.

There is a new Explorer Patcher version that came out a couple of days ago. Upgrade to that and see if that helps. Another workaround is to remove the recent update, obviously, and then block it so it won't be automatically installed again until we find some new workaround.

You gave me the hope... Also nice to see that they separated tips and suggested files, cause disabling them also disables suggestions on taskbar
