Just clean install OS, reverts back to old File Explorer by itself

The registry tweaks is makes Windows customizable. You turn on a known key or change its value, it will appear in to your UI.

I know what "registry tweaks" (are supposed to) do {Sigh}, I want to know what the specific registry tweaks the OP uses (are suppose to) do.

@f23948 is correct. A windows update seems to have broken @Brink registry fix. It no longer brings back the ribbon in 22000.438.

The method below still works for me to restore the ribbon in File Explorer. You do need to sign out/in or restart the computer to apply though.

You can rest assured anything @Brink puts on this forum is from a legitimate source and can be trusted. He has hundreds of tutorials to help users get Windows to appear and function as the user desires.

As always @Brink is so so right. I was not only using an older registry tweak, but was not aware that the old ribbon doesn't appear until one opens a folder for the first time from within file explorer. Once one of the folders is opened, from then on file explorer has the old ribbon.

@f23948 May I suggest that once you start one thread about an issue that you do not open another thread about the same issue, especially 2 days apart. This not only helps you, but others reading the threads seeking answers, not to mention saving a lot of time for those who help you.

I think this post was in regards to the ZIP file that the OP posted, Dont believe it was aimed at Brink.

I missed the zip file. I am very protective of our Brink. He works too hard and is meticulous in what he does.

@Devlin1888 I followed him for years before I joined these forums. Then I saw his name was always brought up in other forums. He's always been kind of mysterious and I remember thinking "Who the hell is this guy?"
