Solved just updated to windows 11 and have update 23h2 when will i get 24h2 or 25h2


Since you are so concerned about "losing everything," I have a hypothetical question for you. If your system drive failed and you lost all your data, what would you do? How would you recover your data then if you had not taken measures to protect that data?

I can not add anything to what you have already been told about how to manually upgrade your computer. Since you just upgraded to Windows 11-23h2 today, possibly you will be offered 24h2 by windows update at some point soon. No one here can tell you if or when that might be. I do know that Windows update will not offer the 25h2 enablement package until a machine has 24h2 installed.

Absolutely! As my signature says, I'm a firm believer in the 3-2-1 Backup Strategy:
3 - A minimum of 3 copies of your data
2 - On at least two different media types
1 - One copy must always be offsite

If it is not fully compliant then WU will not offer you Version updates [such as 23H2 to 24H2] and these will always have to be done manually [using the ISO & repair install procedures others have mentioned]. Once you are on any new Version, its updates will be handled automatically, it's just the jump from Version to Version that is not automatic.

Does your CPU have the SSE4.2 instruction set?
You need that to update to 24H2, 25H2 or any future Versions.
You can find out the answer by using the CPU-Z utility:-

As I said above... the easiest way is to just do an In-Place Upgrade. ^^

Yes, but do consider why you only have 23H2 at the moment.
How did this happen? Any current updating to Windows 11 would normally take you straight to 24H2/25H2.

So you ought to be successful in updating to 25H2.
Use the ISO & Repair install procedure you were given links to in post #2. You won't lose anything.
But do make a new system image first & check the backups of your own files [Word, Excel, ...]

says on system about that i am on the latest version of windows 11. Please do check if there are any updates to be installed later in page or in the windows update section in settings

i ran whynotwin11 again on my computer with windows 11 installed and it says your computer can run windows 11 and it's updates
