Software is typically updated "in place". You will not end up with two versions if you do an update.

let windows handle updates of microsoft software and consoles (aka powershell / command prompt). just use Store and Windows Updates to keep those things up to date.

Glad you got upgraded to 25H2 ok. Personally I would ignore what version powershell is on - I havent a clue what version I have. It got installed with 25H2 from a clean install. If you plan to upgrade it I'd suggest doing a backup/image first. Did you do any file or image backups?

Windows 11 includes Windows PowerShell 5.1 out of the box, which is sufficient for most basic scripting and administrative tasks. However, if you're looking for more advanced features, cross-platform support, or active development updates, you'll want to install PowerShell 7.x, also known as PowerShell Core.

Personally, I would simply install PowerShell 7.x from the Microsoft Store and always automatically have the latest version.

i now how powershell on windows 11 via Microsoft Store do ineed to remove windows powershell or windows powershell x86 as both programmes are confusing me or wait until I get an update for version 7.5.4 since i keep getting the message Install the latest PowerShell for new features and improvements! I would have used Revo Uninstaller to uninstall PowerShell 5.1 before I installed PowerShell 7.x from the Microsoft Store.

Install the free version of Revo Uninstaller and you should be able to differentiate between the two and uninstall the right one.
