Just upgraded...Hmmmm ????

That's cuz it's on your PC! If you sent that exact document to me, it'd be my PC and name there!
That very well may be, but I still think that's what the OP wants to remove.

They can't! The file has to have an identity to be visible, searchable and viewable in the Explorer environment.

Only the OP knows if they want to only remove the Metadata or the actual right click option like a few people think. Depending on the source, Metadata can contain personal info.

Yeah, I can see that. If they're receiving documents, from a major institution, that may be legally/financially binding, I'm sure the institution has some pretty sophisticated methods to fully and securely protect those documents.

The closest I've seen to disabling the right click option was with some photos posted on the Internet that I couldn't right click on and choose the save as option.

I think the question is: what kind of documents does the OP want to send and why they want to protect them so strictly.

I just emailed myself a copy of a fully authored Office doc with 'All possible Properties Removed'
... there's nothing incriminating in the Properties box!

Yeah, Adobe Acrobat Pro can do that too. And any media files (jpg, mp3, etc.) that you embed in the file will enjoy the same protection.

Don't go overboard folks, if your needs go beyond that, you would already know how to satisfy such lofty needs.

I don't remember if I had to disable a setting or if it was only on my phone, but I do remember the Metadata having the location of where my photos were taken. I wouldn't want that shared over the internet.

I don't remember if I had to disable a setting or if it was only on my phone, but I do remember the Metadata having the location of where my photos were taken. I wouldn't want that shared over the internet.

Well, what I do is to generate the original document in an Office app (usually MS Word or PowerPoint) with media embedded and 'prepare the document for publication' (which is the built-in tool of Office apps) If you then right click the embedded media in the file, there is nothing there.

If I know that the recipient has the corresponding Office app (or at least a viewer) then I encrypt the file and send the file as an email attachment (this presupposes that the password has been sent over a different channel, like WhatsApp on the phone)

If I know that the recipient does not have the corresponding Office app (or at least the viewer) then I save the Office app file as a pdf. I then let Adobe Acrobat Pro 'sanitize' and 'encrypt' the file and send the file as an email attachment.

This is solid civilian/commercial level security (which is often not even needed) it is still not national security level, but it lets me sleep at night.

Edit: The content of the photo or document can still identify you

Some programs, like Acrobat Pro, have tools to Protect and/or Sanitize documents before sending/publishing.
Yep, so does my Nitro Pro. The standard windows procedure works fine for me removing metadata in word.
I had to cover up my name

Why have the option if it doesn't work
Edwin-Yep Nitro Pro works the same way for pdf's.
Winuser and Fabler2- I believe it only works for files you create yourself that have certain identifying properties.

I tested the "Remove Properties and Personal Information" option in both 10 and 11 and it works exactly the same way.

Here's an example of a word doc before and after where my name is removed. The same thing happens with an excel spreadsheet. (I can prevent my name from showing in the first place on any document, spreadsheet, etc I create within MS Office simply by changing a setting under the general tab.)

On the other hand, a file created in notepad which has an attribute of A (archive) does not identify the originator's name, only the name of the originator's computer and the folder path. A .txt file has a completely set of attributes than a .docx file. I sent this same .txt file to my husbands email as an attachment. Right clicking on the file within his email gave no option for attributes of the file. I saved it on his computer, and the attributes changed reflecting his computer name and saved folder path. Nothing about mine remained.

It appears to me, that any identifying attributes applied to a file and whether or not the attributes can be removed are controlled by whatever application creates the file. This would account for why the OP said in regard to a file from his bank, "after I have downloaded the file, and right click to see who the author is, created etc it says "Right click has been disabled" I think it is some specialized software the bank uses and not the run of the mill stuff a normal user has access to that adds a special attribute to the file.

To me, Windows works as it is designed. I believe the OP's expectations for what one can do natively in Windows may be too high unless he wants to purchased some kind of specialized software.

I don't remember if I had to disable a setting or if it was only on my phone, but I do remember the Metadata having the location of where my photos were taken. I wouldn't want that shared over the internet.
Probably in your Phone-Camera settings...

Not much. Nothing about you. Just the image specs. Everything else has to do with MY comp.
